There seriously needs to be some online introduction course to overall game health and balance that you need to complete before you should be able to post anything about balance
If you think these forums are being ignored by blizzard I would hope they are doing it.
If anyone has ever worked in customer service you should be well aware that the customer is rarely right and usually clueless and the odd one or two will know their stuff
These forums are just filled with extreme bias, complete dishonesty, a mindset to derail anything and the huge spread of misinformation
If you think the games dying then I’ll let you know the cause, it’s these forums and their completely selfish mindset as it comes to balance and a total misunderstanding of how the game should work
Blizzard can’t do a thing with out starting a war between two factions of people in the forums, they have to fear all the changes they make due to insane backlash and have to put up with a consistent barrage of being told their not doing their job correctly for doing what they’re told
How on earth are people going to make the right choices under these conditions
I personally think you should be able to get banned for spreading misinformation as it’s more dangerous to game health other than getting silenced for calling someones opinion stupid when it is just that stupid
This is a wake up call some people need to heed before they set this game down the path of destruction because they’re too busy trying to force their narrative down every collective readers throats
Everyone is going to fall victim to the nerf hammer or be pushed up to places they hadn’t expected due to buffs
Balance in a game like this is going to be impossible with the rubbish feedback these forum provide
For the love of god think about overall game health rather than wanting your heroes that you play needing a space laser that kills everyone on the whole team

I don’t doubt the gentleman knew what he was talking about and is the exact type of feedback that is needed in the game on a subject you’d have to be completely bonkers to not agree with
It’s astounding how divided the forum community is. How can we ensure and support the health of the game when one side thinks “Brigitte and Mercy 2.0 are overpowered, this game is trash and dying, and anyone who disagrees is wrong” while the other side thinks “Brigitte and Mercy 2.0 are perfectly balanced, just click on their heads” or some crap? Why can’t we just have a middle ground, like “Hey, I can see that these heroes are performing too well and need some tuning.”

People don’t necessarily play in the same modes.
I spend 99% of the time in QP so my experience will differ from other players that spend much of their time elsewhere.
Players also have different skill levels which can cause different experiences.
The game also uses MMR/SR to match players together which means that players of differing skill do not meet much. Outside of the PTR and forums I don’t run into players of different skill level aside from the occasional matchmaker issue/large odd stack.
Players also came to the game at different times which can impact what time period they attached to or what experiences they have already had.
Finally, players come into the game with different capabilities, expectations, personalities, interests, and past experiences that all influence how they see the game. Overwatch has a wide enough appeal and a sufficient lack of competition that you have boatloads of people with very little in common.
i 100% agree with you, especially about the misinformation part… its a pretty significant problem, i haven’t seen it get this bad in other game forums…
the reality of it is simple. forums are the reason most games end up dead. but also catering to the GM and OWL players demands also kills a game.
when a game has a high competative scene that brings it tuns of money they cater to them more then the community as a whole.
the players that get the most attention are the ones that bring them money while the players that are low rank and see the issues in the game are ignored widly. its a reverse system where the minoritys voice is louder then the masses voice.
the other main issue that blizzard has and op said it. is if they balance one way everyone that is part of the sheep are going to scream that its broken and needs to be nerfed while the none sheep are going to scream the reverse. so the communitys become devided.
what needs to happen is the community needs to come together as a whole. something that is not ever going to realy happen due to trolls toxicity and other such things.
and start actualy useing there brains and intelagince to help insted of hammper the balance in the game and the games over all health.
i want to see over watch make it to 35 heroes or more. at the rate this game is going and this community is going. we will be lucky to see the next 2 released
this community in and of its self. is killing this game. and blizzard cant do anything to stop it.
im going to call you out and say you are part of the cancer that is makeing this game die. by beleaveing that anyone in this games voice should be louder then anyone elses you show that you are one of the problums and not one of the answers.
all players voices should be equal. one group should not hold more power then another. and THAT is also part of why this game is dieing.

Many issues this game has right now happened because Blizzard actively tries to keep the more casual players happy and it ends up breaking far more than it fixes.
im not seeing alot of happy casual players. if anything im seeing a mass of angry casual players that are ignored becuse blizzard caters to the higher ranked players aka the minority of the game. and the OWL players. every nerf that has come down the hatch has been becuse someone in these ranks has complained about how a heroe is played or used.
Blizzard needs to make up their mind on how to Balance their hero Doomfist and Old Roadhog was ruin because they listen to the forums and Sombra was ruin because they listen to the OWL pros
there not trieing though there litterly catering to there biggest money makers GM ranked players and OWL players and even there streamers. anything taht brings them money there catering to.
they could care less about numbers when it comes to casuals. once most casuals buy a game they never spend another dim on it. they own the game there for they have no use to add money to said game via there in game loot systems or random loot boxes. even more so when all you get from them are skins. and the random dup currancy for allready haveing one of the skins. add into it that a casual player who levels up atleast once or twice a week or plays weekly arcade. is going to make all the free boxes that they could ever want.
so no casuals dont have a voice and they are not handed everything on a golden platter like the GM and owl players are. a single owl player opens there mouth or team opens there mouth about how a hero plays and suddenly we have a doom fist or roadhog nerf. or in the case of mercy. the complaint that got her wings cliped was a simple one " mercy is hidding while her team dies on the point and then mass rezing her team on the point to turn the tides " a strat that someone in high rank/owl complained about becuse they thought it was unfair even though she was perfictly balanced at the time.
ners happen becuse of the " elitests " not becuse of the casuals.
