I too am shocked that people don’t think buffing the healer who shuts down other healers will make the support role feel good.

Buffs antiheal to make it even more important for one support to run Kiriko, despite what they might actually want to play, and then doesn’t go far enough with Sojourn nerfs so that we’re still stuck with her

Mercy should have her fun, high skill ceiling gameplay loop back and not be a pocket bot to make a broken meta dps absurd.

I don’t think it’s a “Not like that”, so much as it’s a “All the Supports, not just Ana” issue.
Nah this is completely wrong. No one, and I mean NO ONE on these forums asked for an Ana buff. Literally, no one. So don’t pretend like support mains have been crying for Ana buffs for ages.
We are asking for Mercy, Zen (at least I am) and Brig buffs mainly. Ana was not deserving of anything and we all know it.
Also making a hero pretty much only good when paired with another support does not mean Mercy is stronger in any way.

Updating support would be updating support. Mercy and Ana are not the only two support???
Ana is not ‘all supports’. If Ana got buffed along with every other support we’d be having a different discussion.
No one asked for solely Ana buffs over every other support. No one has ever said Ana is currently the worst support, and no one has ever said Ana is the most deserving of buffs out of all supports. Asking for ‘support buffs’ does not mean buffing ONLY Ana.

The support role as a whole needs changes/rebalancing to make them more fun. 1 or 2 could do with a rework.
I am aware my comment from before Overwatch “2” isn’t germane to this thread, but hear me out.
I made this prediction back in March. Low and behold Winston was META along with the fact that at the top only a single tank is being played in every situation.
That being said, I will make another prediction.
With all these “supports are (insert bad thing here)” threads, my conclusion is that people won’t be happy until we get a single super support. Much like has been done with the tank role. And/or we move to a 1 tank 1 support 3 DPS/ 1 tank 1support 2 DPS format.
Splitting the power of support between 2 characters being fielded makes the individual support to weak to stand on their own. Without a second tank to cover the weakness of the first, the enemy team will exploit this by taking the counter tank and using this method to reduce the power of the tank so they can remove the supports from the field.
The player base and development staff are moving in such a predictable fashion I do not see any other viable outcome. But, when have I ever been right in the past?

We wanted support across the map, not just one and not in THIS direction. It just forced the other team to pick kirkio or else no support can heal for 4 secs and 1 sec is an eternity during battle. 4 is just purgatory.

At what point will this insanity end then?
If there are a few of us who can literally plan out, with zero insider information, what the specific future of the game will be, why even continue to deal with the mess?
Blizzard isn’t going to improve the individual power level of each support on their own. When they do, you get things like Suzu, which literally nullifies Ana’s existence. Though, when you do your homework, the “pro’s” don’t even recognize this impact and just blanket the fact that Kiriko’s Ultimate is so stronk.
Lets go over some off the wall options then.
Increase discord orb to 50%
Add 1 second more time to Zen’s Ult
Increase Lucio’s range and effectiveness of healing and speed aura by 10-25%
Lower the CD on Resurrect by 50%
Increase Bridgette’s shield health by 200
Allow people to proc Brig’s heal on 10 second CD.
Increase speed you attain armor in her Ult
Make Baptiste’s lamp immune to damage
Increase area of effect of his healing grenade
None of what I wrote is even remotely a solution to the issue supports face. Thing is, if Blizzard did any of these things, the forums would be so opposed you would see every other thread being “I quit because of (insert support change here)”.
At this point, just sit back and enjoy the ride. The current team who are working on Overwatch do not have the ability or fortitude to change or fix the issues that exist.
As an afterthought: Overwatch, the concept, died in January of 2017 when Blizzard gave Mercy invulnerability during Mass Resurrect. That change was the tipping point for every bad decision to follow.
Difference is they buffed the strongest anti support part in Ana, gave Mercy 5 bullets and gave Sojourn another light slap on the wrist. Oh and nerfed Kiriko who is made more mandatory cause of her cleanse and buffed Tracer.
That doesn’t sound like Brigitte, Baptiste or Zenyatta buffs to me.
