Um, it just happens to be Mercy. They probably planned that 6+ months ago. Some hero has to be picked for the mythic skin.

No I didnt… They make ALOT of money off Mercy skins… When they released Pink Mercy they made 12.5 Million off it. Mercy is their Cash Cow… Kirko might be a bright shinny toy for some but Mercy has always been.
Lets not forget the amount of posts about the Zombie Mercy skin people were freaking out about because they thought they were never gonna get. So many people ready to swipe them cards for it. Mercy = Cash Cow of the game

All I can say is that my OW2 game participant consistency has gotten a bit better since the leaver penalties started eliminating quitters from the general player pool. There is also no sign of Blizz easing off the gas pedal given the results.
