it already IS in all current games in one way or another. Itās a basic matchmaking technique since we got rid of dedicated clan servers (good old times).

if you are not tryhard-competitive, it doesnāt really matter for you. most of the people donāt care, donāt know and donāt mind. they donāt play enough to recognize certain patterns. and the other group tries to manipulate/please the MMR god to get better games.

I have to look again to see if I can get any details. Perhaps they can explain the patterns I see.
Has anybody really looked closely at them to see any details emerged? I know yes the 50/50 thing but anything more detailed?
Blizzard has admitted there can be variance in your SR based on several factors. Some of these factors are not within the control of the matchmaker but some are. However they have severely downplayed the magnitude of this variance.
Jeff has admitted that you can be stuck within a range of 250-500 SR from your actual skill level. But in reality it is more like 500 on the absolute low end and can easily exceed 1000+. There are several reasons for this as mentioned but the main one is the MMR handicapping that Blizzard refuses to address and will probably continue to use the same system in ow2.

It is true. They said they will āadjustā the Matchmaker for ābetter stat trackingā aspecially against low level accounts.
What I understand here is that they will make the mmr even stronger to always let smurfs play against each other. (What is already happening a lot).
But this will absolutely not fix any smurf problem in any elo because they will just stuck longer in lower elos. Winrates will just fall down again closer to 50%.
Another problem is, is that if someone is switching platforms. He is not directly a smurf. He just switched platforms. How will be the MM for those people?
