For sake of tanking, no more hanzo + cass + zen + ana

These heroes are killing the tank role. Not individually, but the fact there are at least 2 of them in most games, and often all 4, has really destroyed any fun for the tank role in season 4.

I started playing tank more seriously in S2 and it was a bit of a chore, but could still be fun. But in S3 playing tank has become pretty miserable and it’s because of those 4 heroes being so highly picked that you can’t have a game without 2-3 of them on the other team.

Ana and Hanzo are, quite literally, in most games on both teams at my level. If it’s not hanzo then it’s cassidy, guaranteed, and if not Ana then Zen (but there is always an Ana so more likely it’s Ana+Zen).

I’d love to keep playing tank as I think it’s a role I could grow into, but for now I’m heading back to support until we see what S4 brings. If Ana+Hanzo is still the main duo in almost every game then I think I’ll just stick to support.

I just played my 6th game of the day and every game had 2 Ana’s and this is the first game I’m not playing against Hanzo but there is, of course, a cassidy instead.

maybe if you had a tank duo to shared that burden with those heroes wouldnt seem as much of an issue. if its not this hero then its another.

btw i think mei is the most cryptonite hero towards tanks

But you don’t see mei much. It’s ok for a hero to be strong against a role if they are only in a few games a day. But if heroes are broken against a role and they are in every game then that’s not fun for anyone playing that role.

That’s the situation we are in now. I could add widow to that list actually as she is in way too many games for the misery she brings as well.

Overall, this season, the hero selection being played has been pretty anti-fun, especially for tanks.

You need to adapt.
Bastion melts tanks, Reaper melts tanks, Zen enables melting of tanks, Ana enables melting of tanks.
If you can’t deal, it either is a skill issue on the tank’s end, and/or your team fails to properly deal with the threat.

How does that have anything to do with the fact these heroes are in every game? It is tedious and boring and repetitive. This season has been the most boring yet, by far. Same tiny set of heroes every game, and it happens most of them are the strongest against tanks.

Wait till you find out widow does 300 damage from further away than hanzo to tanks.

Widow is in not nearly as many games as hanzo. Doesn’t matter as much if she does 300 damage if it’s hanzo that’s in your game. There are very few games which are not hanzo vs. hanzo except on widow specific maps, but even there it’s often widow+hanzo.

How can they leave such a small number of heroes being picked in most games? It totally defeats the purpose of having nearly 40 heroes.

Tanks are rock-paper-scissors switching which is annoying.

DPS are hanzo, cassidy, tracer, widow, genji and probably 3 others

Supports are Ana in 100% of games

I will keep trying to adapt to this scenario that keeps occurring, yet is out of my control.

See, that is a good idea! Blizzard should have considered this by now, right?

…Right?

my problem is zen
ana is… barley bearable, but i can handle it
what i cant handle is the sudden reason i exist be removed because a zen sent an angry purple ball at me the second i showed my face, and i cant get close to land axe swings because he keeps kicking me

Cassidy is also bearable
same with hanzo

but them combined is just pain

Bastion and Reaper are both easier to play around. Bastion is cooldown gated and Reaper is range gated.

Hanzo and Cassidy aren’t either.

Barely see him tbh. If i do he switches off.
