Flex player PRIDE

Anyone else just happy to be a flex player?

You may have your god tier hero, but man I do love being a walking Army Swiss Knife.

In the same sense of satisfaction that it grants taking down a great beast my boys and girls love to dab on shutting down a good player.

Its the nature of the game. Utilize the tools at your disposal or end up with a loss.

Not many left but sure, happy to have that versatility.

It makes me giggle when the enemy gets countered and starts crying in the chat:
ā€œOh look they picked this, so much skill, wowā€

… when they are a one trick that can’t pick anything else. Like calling me a ā€œtryhardā€ for learning different heroes :skull:

I think there are more naturally. Just the one tricks have such love for a hero they come on the forums to fight the idea of nerfs and buffs to their specific hero.

It is more of a necessity than anything.
hero limits makes switching to the ā€œcorrectā€ hero impossible so it still comes down to preferences.

True that’s why you mainly stick to two or three heros for most scenarios.

But man…going Sombra just to watch a Pharah fall to their doom is always hilarious…sigh…bet they’ll remove her hack and make it more like a melee damage boost now.

What kind of flex player?

There are 2 types, there’s:

  • I can play anything, that my team needs so that our synergy becomes really good.

And then there’s:

  • This Hero counters that Hero, lemme switch real quick.

Why not both?

I used to be that one player that wanted to specialize in all heros. I was severely stretching my focus and didn’t really improve. Not until I stuck with my favorites.

Now I play a handful decently at least fit for every scenario. Well almost any scenario. I have my methods.

Good for you…

Unfortunately there is not enough heroes that I find fun in this game to ā€œflexā€ā€¦

But you do you, and have fun with flexing (-;

There are 10 types of flex players…
Ones that understand binary and ones that don’t

Actually, there are three kinds. Those who can count, and those who can’t.

The act of switching in itself is not skillful. A baby can be taught that. Can I win with McCree against Pharah? Yeah. Is it satisfying? No. It’s boring. Rather be playing Junkrat but you feel like you need to be diving me constantly with a sustained flight hero so nobody has fun. Great. Why do we even play games?

I mean its a pvp game…how is not toppling an opponent not fun here? Even better if we win via the objective.

Nope… I rather be a master of one than a master of none

Different people have different ideas of fun.

Exactly the type I like to hunt.

A true hunter uses various tools to defeat their prey.

The hunted only rely on themselves.

I like to play vs. flexers. Most aren’t very good at shutting down my Ball unless they are an actual Sombra main or something. And even when they kinda do, as long as you are still getting some value they usually lose patience and switch to something else after a few deaths anyway and allow you to start dominating again. So you just gotta wait it out.

In comp? nothing, in casual modes… well.

This game suffers from always being forced onto things you don’t wanna do.

The devs force meta’s that force you into what they want.

Counters force you off further.

Synergizing expectations force further…

and thats how we end up with a game, that gets this much deserved anger.

Oh my favorite. I play a lot of Ball too. Sad to see him in such a state where he gets countered hard.

I also play Sombra too as a side dps. Ots not going to be a good day with me coaching the team on how to shut that down easily.

i used to like it in the old days but it gets boring fast now a days.

if i come back to this game beyond this event ill likely one trick a dps i havnt played in a while and just put in a bunch of time tryin to climb an alt back up to masters with them.

prolly tracer or genji would be my guess, something fun and different compared to the ranged hitscans im used too lol

Than that’s a not a one trick…that’s just you touching ground with an old friend.
