No one knows about how to counter the new character hazard yet but from what ive seen is winston gives a good protective umbrella against hazard so what i think is the reason why they buffed winston is to have a fair fight against hazard. Since his sheilds negate his ults its good to have him around.
How about just nerf hazard instead of buffing Winston solely to counter hazard

Winston was weaker than wrecking ball last season. Now that hes buffed he will be in the same tier as him.

Well i get more win rates with wrecking ball and winston has never done me any good last season. People always complain to me that i should switch from wrecking ball to winston and i always lose and get a low winrate because my teammates force me to play him. They discriminated my hammond skills only for me to allow them to lose as winston. Now that winstons buffed I will be just as durable as my wrecking ball.
Buffing Winston is generally a mistake since Winston is usually an indicator of poor or good balancing itself.
These random microbuffs are stupid and provides like nothing of help until a set of massive nerfs and a bunch of questionning where one suddenly dominates
Wrecking Ball currently has so much HP, even the dumbest plays makes up for bad plays at times.

No offence but how is your wrecking ball better than Winston? He’s pretty easy to play and was one of the easiest tanks I have ever played. Maybe for your Winston is garbage, but for a lot of other people Winston is the better pick than WB
I rely on ambushing targets and get better picks with wrecking ball. Besides why is winston a better pick than wb? Is winstons shield effective against piledrive? Nope since it ensures melee range and close combat damage that shield is unreliable. Wrecking ball can always pass through the sheild and get within close range to fire anyone within the sheild. The only better pick about winston is probably his health regen when he ults.
Because he can zap multiple people and ignore shields? His shield is much better at helping teammates than adaptive shields.
He has to move into a position where he can’t get healed and is probably going to take a lot of damage just trying to close the distance

He’s too mobile for how much damage and survivability he has.
He needs one or the other, not literally everything.
Revert the buff or compensate by making his shield have less HP or have a longer timer on his leap.
Hazard shares a lot of similarities with Doomfist. The things that counter Doom probably also counter Hazard. I know for sure that Mauga is a big counter to Hazard.
Winston didn’t need buffs. He wasn’t underperforming.
Have you considered that maybe you’re just better as Ball than you are as Winston?
I highly doubt that randoms are specifically telling you to play Winston instead of Ball.
