Pretty sad the way Blizzard is jumping right onto Flats rant.
Flats: “No tank should have a 1-shot available on an 8s cooldown”
Also Flats: “Rein charge should do 300 damage”
And here comes Blizzard to the rescue telling us hog will lose his 1-shot and rein gets a buff to his charge damage.
Pathetic. Flats has some of the worst takes because he is so biased. He’s always hated hog because he built his career streaming around rein. Imagine balancing a game based on the opinion of a rein main.
Blizz is running scared with all the negativity from their content creators and now we’re going to see a whole bunch of pandering to them which will including killing heroes they don’t like.

tbh rein mains are just like that. crybabies.

No tank should have a ranged one shot. I normally don’t like Flats, but this is a good take.

I think it was already clear that they listen to no one but CC and pros.

They’ve had a private content creator discord for years, where they talk directly to them and give them exclusive information and content. This isn’t even news, it’s just the way things are.

Maybe one day the forums won’t blame streamers & professionals for changes that they don’t like.
If you think Flats complaining about Roadhog is the reason he’s getting reworked, you’re beyond wrong.
Completely and utterly wrong. Possibly the biggest reason for Overwatch being in such a bad state for so long is Blizzard’s refusal to listen to any of the advice and input given to them by professionals.

Nah nah. I wont take the slander.
Rein mains are fine. So is charge.
Flats is just entitled.

I don’t like Flats or the majority of his takes, but he is absolutely right about Hog. Personally I would have nerfed his E and HP, but oh well.
Also Rein charge is different. Rein is risking his life by using charge, and it actually takes a bit of skill to use. Hog hook takes 0 risk and let’s be honest, not a lot of skill. A Rein who successfully charges a 200hp target deserves the kill.

Ad hominem fallacy is when you attack the person and not the argument. His argument is sound.

They literally only listen to content creators.
- They only unban content creators, even when other people get falsely banned. They only review content creator bans. People have been falsely banned just for playing Doomfist, and just get copy-paste responses that they “reviewed” it and then ignore all future tickets.
- They only make changes based on what content creators say. People have been complaining about Hog’s oneshot since forever. They only change it because content creators are complaining now.
They shill for Blizz and bring in new players and more money so Blizz does whatever they can to keep them.

It’s a decent take, what I don’t like is demanding a change without a proper solution. Most of the times I’ve heard no more be shot. So what can he do now? Provide something that will nerf the problem but also provide something in return so he is still playable. With his soft rework he will get after his nerfs next month I’d assume they will change how his behavior works. Maybe no more focus on damage and more of a peel tank or he will be good at ranged disruption rather then hook line and back to spawn. Idk what the plans are but I don’t think it’s a great idea to leave any hero in the gutter because the devs decided not to rework hog before the game. That and they added Kiriko which just adds to his power. As always blizzard a solution to one problem that causes three more problems in return. Like how tf did they break hanzo animation nerfing heroes like what?
History shows Blizzard neglecting any input and feedback from professionals and instead taking their own approach to solving problems, which just rarely ends up actually fixing what they set out to do.
Examples being GOATS meta, double shield meta & most recently this whole Sojourn problem that has plagued the game for over 6 months now.
If Blizzard actually listened to professionals things like Sojourn’s buffs in the first open beta, Tracer’s buff to 6 damage and Blizzard’s all around approach to tuning Sojourn post-launch would have been completely different.

Tbf they’re not remotely comparable

Also Flats is a Winston/Reinhardt main. Of course he doesn’t like Roadhog.Pretty self explanatory as to why he wants him in the gutter.

Streamers have bad takes that the devs ignore all the time. You just noticed one that coincidentally happened.
For better or worse, the devs tend to follow the data first and foremost. They take community sentiment into account on occasion but not that often. When they do, then yes, streamers certainly have louder voices than anybody else in the community. That’s sort of unavoidable.

While I don’t think Flats is perfectly unbiased, he isn’t wrong when he says that “Pin” is actually high risk, medium reward, often bugs out etc.
This is from a non-tank main who generally dislikes tank players.

Flats plays Orisa, at least when I saw him grouping with seagull.
Hog is still untouched when they could have made some number changes before his rework.
I don’t know who they listen to but devs for sure pick what they want to listen and ignore the important stuff.
I’d like to see them do a really soft set of changes around his combo to reduce the chance it works but still keep his hook. Reduce stun to 0.01s (just so it can still stop abilities as stuns do) and don’t rotate target to face hog on arrival. That would stop him having time to step forward to get more pellets to land and reduce they chance he has the target facing him to land more in the crit box.
Doing that gives supports a chance to heal enough that they survive the encounter and it becomes a requirement for team followup.

actually history says that blizzard intentionally ignores everyones opinions to do there own thing and thats why the games balance has been so bad for years.
if they had listened to high elo players, there never would of been a goats meta, never would of been double shield and sojourn would never of been as strong as she was for as long as she has.
historically the only group they have ever listened too was the people in the metal ranks but when those changes end up being bad for the game those same metal rank players will start yellin “WHY DO THEY ALWAYS LISTEN TO PROS AND NOT US”.
they did listen to you and the changes they made were terrible because low elo players have no idea what they are talking about or any vague idea of what would make the game balanced.
they have tried a few times to balance pro play (which u never do, you balance top 500 ladder because people do not have that level of teamplay in ladder) it was really silly things like buffing reaper, but those buffs had no effect on high elo play and simply made reaper busted in low ranks.
but they never listen to the any of us that are masters+, because if they did the game never would of died in the first place.
it should of been obvious to everyone that the reason goats was unkillable was all the passive healing. yet they instead kept nerfing everything but that and the reason for that is because they want supports to be fun in low elo and the only way to do that is to over buff them so even the worst players can get value on the hardest role.
