5 stacks should only play other 5 stacks, if that means long queues, so be it.

Who is saying we want to face solo queuers if we’re stacked? That isn’t even how the matchmaker works. I don’t understand where you got this from.

top 500 wouldn’t care for an insanely high queue if they get a balanced match because as flats said in season 1 you have emongg get 3 minute match and then a 20-minute queue
Deranking from GM takes a long time losing 15 games to get a derank that isn’t feasible and insane. Also purposefully deranking can make you get reported and banned on competitive since they will think you are losing intentionally.

He was complaining about queue times because it was looking for other stacks. Shorter queue times means facing non-stacks.

After playing gm+ for years without 3+ stacks… i seriously don’t want to go back to that… especially where we can’t even see who’s grouped with who. It’d make this game and its matchmaker feel even more random and luck based than it already can be.
If 3+ gm+ stacks were put back in fairly (i.e only faced against the same number of stack)… nobody would even use it bc the ques would be too damn long. Gm+ have been complaining about ques for months now, we’re seriously going to argue for grouped ranked in gm+?…

Again, that isn’t how the matchmaker works. If you stack, the game tries to match you with other equal sized stacks.

He’s talking about stacking in GM/T500 against other GM/T500 players, they aren’t “smurf stacking” in lower ranks.
All of them are consistently in T500 solo-queuing, they don’t need to stack to “get carried”, they just want to play with friends.

Hmm, I didn’t know that. I’m GM on console but I don’t have any Friends that are even close to my rank so I’ve just never noticed
yeah unfortunately me as a bastion GM1 suck because I have 5 stacks I would love that but I won’t mind solo queuing tho.
I can understand some consternation about Flats. But his regular duo Emongg?
I’ve said this before but Overwatch is a stand out bad community. And I don’t mean just players, but streamers, esports pros and the company employees themselves. It’s an abuse community.
The game is fun, above average in fun, if you cut off communication while playing. The whole game, even when you are allowed to full stack, breaks you up so you can’t stay with your friends anyway.
But this video and even picking on it falls into the whole troll mentality that it seems even the devs of this game have.
