Flashpoint will kill Overwatch

Look I still like the game a lot. I enjoy logging in every day to do dailies and unwind. But I do this alone. I don’t have any friends who play Overwatch anymore. Usually it’s not a problem. In most classic Overwatch modes maps are focused on an objective and team of randoms can find their groove and play like a cohesive team. You can play and win as a solo player just fine.

But then sometimes you get to play on those awful Flashpoint maps, which are huge wastes of space where players can struggle to even find where to go. The run to the objective is so long and there are so many pathways most teams just can never gather for an attack properly. My winrate in this mode is maybe 10%. I figured this has to do with solo queuing, as often my team would output better damage and heals but still fail to capture any point.

My feeling towards these maps are reinforced by Battle of the Beasts event, which is probably the worst mode in OW history. It’s unbelievably boring, confusing and consists of people running around randomly like it’s a Battlefield game.

I say let the mode go (and bring back 2CP)

I think the player base is the main problem on flashpoint. Just like they were on Push maps before players got used to them. they just don’t know how to play it properly.

Push was a struggle at first but eventually it clicked. Flashpoint has been out for a while but I still don’t know how to play it and still dislike it thoroughly. I think it will never click.

nah dawg the MAPS are the issue, the game mode is fine as a concept it is just KOTH with swaps.

Flashpoint is just KOTH without the 2 minute timeout between rounds. I like flashpoint we just need more map variety for the game mode.

Why do you need Flashpoint when you have KOTH is another question.

The biggest advice I have is hug your supports between points. It keeps them and yourself safer.

I’d rather keep flashpoint over KOTH. Flashpoint is substantially better.

Absolutely not. KOTH is tried and true. It was always one of the best OW modes. All Flashpoint does is add more confusion. OW is best when it’s simple but with a lot of learned nuance.

Just one of many things that has nailed the OW coffin shut.

Think about this, they won awards for original designs like Wreckingball then make a bunch of changes that essentially design him out of the game.

It’s purely a cash grab at this point.

Flashpoint is KOTH without taking a 2-3 minutes in between points. It’s smoother and far more streamlined. He only people that’ll be confused in flashpoint are players that suck at grouping up. It’s not confusing in the slightest.

The runbacks from spawn are awful in flashpoint, just as bad if not worse than push. KOTH is much better in that regard. You finally almost get back, and one of your team dies, so now you have to wait forever to get back in a group. Sometimes you barely have time to get 2 fights in before a point is lost, it’s garbage.

Nah. Both modes uffin suck. I refuse to play them.

This is called Overwalk.

I drop if I load into a flash point game. Can’t stand that mode at all. I had more fun playing 2 CP than this mode.

if anything will kill overwatch it is push to be honest

The mode needs changes like after a point is captured. Everyone would be send to spawn since it’s near to the point. Instead of walking all the way there only to get killed and it’s just frustrating.

It’s only thing i hate about this mode. Overall i kinda like it.

I don’t understand how people get lost on Flashpoint. There’s a huge icon telling you where the point is at all times…

I’d take 2cp over flashpoint in a heartbeat
