Flashpoint takes too long, should be 2 wins to end map

if each team takes 2 points then the game just drags on for so long.

should be first to two wins and the team that isn’t in control of the point should have faster spawns

I mean it’s very rare that this happens and if a match is really close I don’t mind it going on a while

Flashpoint had to be one of the fastest if not the fast game mode I’ve played by and that’s saying a lot because control exist.

Flashpoint is just soooo fast paced.

If each team pushes the payload to the end and each team needs to attack / defend again the game just drags on for so long.

See what I did there? Flashpoint just like any other mode can either have fast matches or slow ones.

The longest a flashpoint map can go is barely 15 minutes, bar some outlier. Most games are under 10 minutes, shorter than push.

I do wish it was faster. I wonder how fair a passive speed boost would be on that. To make walking back from spawn faster and therefore have more fights.

Gimme teleportation pads at this point. Somewhat near to every cap point on all sides but not directly on it. It’s so much walking. :sob:

You’re supposed to play things that walk fast.

There aren’t enough of those. Especially in support.

Don’t stack supports though, 4 support Flashpoint is terribly boring but OP :frowning:

Even still you got Mercy, Lucio, Moira, Kiriko, etc. Illari works because she’s slow but it doesn’t matter because she’s super OP.

I don’t play them, and usually they already get instalocked by people.

She’s new and I’m not comfortable yet with her, also not sure how well she works in a mode that’s basically just constantly moving team fights.

This leaves Kiriko as my only option which kinda makes the mode very boring.

And what about DPS? I only play Ashe and Mei. And what about Tank? I really only play Zarya.

If the mode really only works for “fast/mobile” heroes, then, imo, that’s a poorly designed mode when the majority of characters in the game aren’t fast/mobile. I shouldn’t have to play heroes I don’t like just because a mode was created with maps that are way too big and with no quick way to traverse them without high mobility.

I want it to be 2 points and longer timers to contest the point… So pretty much control. I don’t like the long runbacks when winning team needs to win 3 teamfights max to score a point. So much time is spend on just running to the point and it doesn’t feel good to see percentage run so fast when you are running literally 100-120 meters to the fight.

too long? its one of the shortest game modes in the game… lol.

Especially as tank. You win the first fight get 3 counterswaps and the next fight you are there for a whole 20 seconds. After that you swap and walk back as your team is staggering themselves and you wait another 40 seconds for your team to join and you get to play again.
After that you walk about 30 seconds towards the next point and repeat.

The actual playtime is indeed very fast paced. The rest you spend walking and waiting.

Yeah also zarya is like the worst tank to play because once you get another teamfight you basically have 0 energy again let allot she is slow and immobile.

Every quick play mode really only works for immobile characters, big slow frontline tanks, slow high dps, slow overpowered healers.

This is a mode for the rest. Go play Quick Play where you can play Zarya/Rein/Orisa, Ashe/Mei/Widow, Ana.

it takes the same amount of time to get from spawn to the point as every other map does tho.

It’s also one of the only modes where dying can easily be the better reward option.

i.e. if the point makes it so that the spawn rooms are closer than walking, losing a fight or throwing yourself somewhere can be much faster than walking since the respawn timer is shorter than walking for slower characters.

This gotta be fixed asap, it’s unbearable, sometimes you lose sollelly because of the closest team taking control of the capture area before it unlocks.

Lmao you must be joking. Are you living in the past playing 6v6 double shield or something? Acting as if every map in the game, especially for 5v5, hasn’t been designed with plenty of flank points for highly mobile dps.

Oh absolutely great advice. Amazing. Stellar 5head recommendation that is. Go play QP where Flashpoint happens to be a mode that is included. Right.

You come across as being extremely upset over something you are choosing to play in a way which you agree is ineffective.

Like if I said, “Hey I want to play Chess, but I insist on sacrificing all my pawns so I can focus on the fun pieces, even though I know that’s incorrect. It’s outrageous that I keep losing, and I’m offended that you even suggest I play in a more effective manner if I want to win.”

That would… still actually be more reasonable than you are being here. Not everything is designed to be equally effective in all situations. That is not balance. That is not even Tic-Tac-Toe.
