Pretty straight forward. The AI are no longer spawning into custom games (Team Deathmatch). Pre patch they were spawning in just fine.
UPDATE: it’s only hero-specific AI. Recommended Role AI or Role Specific AI still spawn in. All game modes affected.
Blizzard plz fix this as soon as possible, it’s causing me to be unable to play with dozens of players who enjoy custom games AI battle!

You can still play against AI if you use the recommended role AI instead of choosing which AI hero you want. It’s still really annoying we can’t choose which hero to spawn though.
Can confirm the bug is still present. The problem is that a specifically selected AI hero by a user will never spawn. However, a random AI hero based on their selected role or via a recommendation will spawn.
Thank you, but due to the changes made to individual heroes, it’s crucial to specifically selected AI hero, and if we can’t specifically selected AI hero it’s pointless for us to play the game. 
I hope they fix this is the next update. Pretty annoying to deal with, especially since it was fine before this season
yea this is still bugged. Hopefully fixed in the midseason patch.
I unistalled OW following this bug since i only play custom game modes. Is this issue still occuring ? Thanks for the heads up
mid season patch is tomorrow i think, reply again tomorrow and I can let you know. In the meantime you can still play with “recommended role” AI instead of choosing the AI heroes.

I was mistaken! Mid-season patch is next week Tuesday the 21st.
Guess what, after more than a month has passed, Blizzard finally fixed the issue in today’s mid-season update, however it doesn’t appear in the patch notes, so it looks like they don’t think (or don’t recognize) that it’s a bug.
