I’m tired of both sym and torb having their turrets farted on from 200 miles away and just instantly killed b/c the game telegraphs where it is…etc.
boring terrible desig.

If theyre going to have turrets that auto aim for the hero then they should be easy to kill. If you want them harder to kill nerf the damage and remove auto aim and make it more of a random spread.
remove their falloff. thats all you have to do or remove the CD so i can just spawn a new one.
The turret never actually kills anyone either but they should be immune to aoe and they should take a huge chunk out of someone soloing it and you MUST target it directly to kill it.
No they shouldnt.
Then the player should be aimong the turret instead of it having autoaim
I also say this as someone who likes the auto aim on turret, sometimes its good to have when your dps are incapable of hitting anything, at least they can choose torb and I’ll have one functioning DPS, the turret.
But if you want them harder to kill, ot needs to go
IMO turrets are okay.
You just need to use more brains.
There is no N in that word.
Thank you.
EDIT:
Oh I found where it came from
Honestly, if you are having trouble finding value out of your turrets, you aren’t placing them in useful spots.
Your turrets should be some where that causes the enemy to look away from your team, warns you of enemies in your backline, or just in an off angle that is unexpected.
All to often I see torb’s and sym’s place their turrets in the same dang spot every time or haphazardly throw them wherever.
Hah! They even say turrent in the title!
Skill issue.
The turrets do suck, horrendously.
Blizzard keeps moving power away from the turrets, and decided to move sym and torb away from their unique niche and making them just another, mediocre, tank buster.
why do you place it in 200 m LoS to the enemy?
you can select where to put it.
Cry. Turrets shouldn’t exist to begin with
Turrets are indeed boring terrible design.
My only gripe with turrets is the long cast time they have, it’s almost impossible to get value out of them when trying to deploy them during a team fight as they instantly explode lol. Maybe reduce the cast time as the damage and hp they currently have are fine.
Damage has been tuned downward and the total health of Torbjorn’s turret is also lower.
Neither has falloff damage.
Depends on the target, but it usually does, and it usually does take priority.
Tanks can shrug off all that turret damage, though. Especially D.va and Orisa.
Arguably, the reason why Torbjorn succeeds is largely because players don’t pay attention to the turret and don’t ever attack it or destroy it.
Part of the problem with turret placement, is that you’re often forced to position them behind the team instead of a flanking position, because your team doesn’t want to move up or occupy space where it would be optimal placement.
Definitely a problem with some lazy players. Especially with Symmetra players who often will just bunch up their Sentries in a single location making them easy kills.
Blizzard deliberately moved power away from Torbjorn’s turret and straight into Torbjorn, and then took that power away from Torbjorn. So, Torb is actually at a net-loss, but considering his win rates back then he may have been overtuned.
Still, based on what I could observe of a lot of players against Torbjorn; most of them aren’t paying attention. And that’s either because the UI, or just not understanding how much of a threat that turret is. Which may have been the problem of what it was so successful.
Symmetra hasn’t really had any sort of power transfer just yet, though.
Pretty darn core to the FPS experience, though.
They already have.
But turrets are also a secondary offensive source, and the way Overwatch is structured, they need to have a small deployment time in order to balance out their offensive capabilities.
Damage and health-wise, however, feels like they deliberately avoided buffing the health and damage relative to the new health totals.
are you kidding? Players down here in copper tier already have a hard enough time figuring out where the turrets are, being unable to turn around and shoot them before getting melted
this would just mean that every smurf and their dog would abuse the hell out of turret heroes to terrorize low ranks.
Torb can outheal his turret from Cass fire
And I’m sick of abilities that players don’t have to aim themselves. I guess we’re both unhappy.
