My main account got banned 3 days ago which I had 1700+hrs and $300 spent. The game tells me to consult my emails for details, but I never received any or specific reasons behind it. I sent in 2 tickets and first all they responded was terms and agreement which was a bot reply. And after I replied, they left me opened for 3 days now. I don’t know if my bans are permanent or temporary. Blizzard should be at least addressing the reasons or any kind of information. I’ve always been respectful with the community and all the bans I’ve been hearing is just unjustified.
sadly it wil likely be permanent they ahve no actual plans to fix the garbage called defense matrix they act like it works as intended when inr eality its NEVER worked
How unfair this system is ridiculous
Let’s put it this way.
I was suspended for two weeks, while I was on vacation and had not logged in for a week.
I check the email and it’s just “Suspended” and no reason. It’s all AI, it’s all bs, and it’s bad for ya’.
If it says suspended. Its just temporary.
If it’s specifically saying “Banned” the account is lost. Its not “deleted”. Just closed off from being playable.
We had this huge problem on OW2’s release where the banned players were suddenly freed because “new game.” So the initial introductions for OW2 brought in a ton of toxicity.
it honestly is liek the system cant tell a legit from a fake report
As someone who’s been falsely suspended many times… I agree. They genuinely need to make actual human beings check on accounts who are reported en masse to make sure that they’re legitimate concerns.
If it’s just like. . . I dunno, a 13 year old playing terrible, then that’s no reason to be suspended or banned. It even used to say that “someone playing poorly isn’t a reportable offense”.
It’s getting ridiculous and out of hand - the people that actually NEED to be punished aren’t because of the bot automation. :\
nothing will change unless some at team 4 are forced to change their ways the system has been broken since ow1
I hope blizzard gets up their lazy asś and fix this issue. it’s a multi billion company and the customer support still sucks. I don’t care if they fired like 800 employee recently. they shouldn’t just straight up ban people without a human looking into the case.
On the launcher it will say “Account banned” Under the play button or “Account Suspended”
Banned is obviously permanent but suspended is temporary.
Best thing to do is do what I did… uninstall this GARBAGE POS GAME.
The only legal route is to Send complaints against the company via the California Attorney general’s office, and the U.S. Federal trade commission.
Other option would be to file a small claims court lawsuit against the company. one where you dont have to spend more than the filing fee, or require a cover letter.
You wont win the lawsuit more than likely. But it does waste their money equally having to send for their attorney. (I think small claims w/o a cover letter is about 4 grand). Best to talk with an attorney on it no matter what.
I agree a company is allowed to ban a player. But at the same time they should be required to directly notify the player.
The proper way they should do this is to lock out the mode(s) for the player and have an in-game messaging system where the player can converse with a “game master” to discuss the issue at hand.
1 ) Cheating: Should remove all “online play”.
2 ) Exploiting: Should pretty much disable the game except messaging.
3 ) Chat / communication violations: Should disable the feature.
1st strike: 2nd strike and three-strike policy with the 4th being no longer able to communicate with others via Match, team or global chat.
duh, what do you mean, what info does the ai system have?, it isnt like it is reviewing full games instantly to see what was happening lol it is literally a text based report system… that just has a threshold til you get actioned… AI is thrown around waaaaay too much, actual garbage system tho for sure.
Blizz can give you lengthy bans without giving you any proof, evidence or chat logs… You can send 5 support tickets; get automated AI response every time.
Maybe think twice before spending any money on this game LOL.
You have about 3 bot responses before you reach a human, so keep on opening the tickets, enjoy the wait times are 7+ days.
the ai logic cant tell if reports are legit or fake/troll reports…its been claimed the system cant be abused at all but in reality its abused massively
Could be worth saving a history of your transactions in the event there’s ever a class action lawsuit.
I tell everyone this.
File for a chargeback for the last purchase you made on the account
Cite that you were banned for no reason and that customer service didnt respond in a timely matter. Tthat should force a human being into the equation.
Once you get a human being, let them know you will cancel the chargeback if they re-instate the account. If they refuse and can’t cite the reasons, you send an “intent to sue” letter to the corporate office, again citting a wrongful ban, lack of response and geniune crap handling by them. you want a refund for anything and everythying you bought and now cant access b/c they randomly banned you.
I’m really hoping they do this to the wrong person and Blizz gets taken to court for it.
They would actually have to show that they’re ACTIVELY engaged in enforcing their TOS fairly and not just willy nilly relying on an automated system that we’ve already proven can be manipulated/weaponized.
When you agreed to Blizzard’s ToU, you agreed that your account can face whatever sanction at Blizzard’s discretion. it’s fruitless to investigate legal avenues, there is no case to be made.
Insinuating people to break Blizzard’s terms and conditions is against the forums rules. Initiating a chargeback will 100% cause your account to be permanently banned and Blizzard will not entertain the idea of canceling a chargeback as leverage. That being said if your account is already permanently banned and you don’t wish to appeal against the sanctions then I suppose you have nothing to lose.
Incorrect. A lot of businesses will settle regardless of how well they think their disclaimers and clauses cover their rear ends. And more often then not these class action suits are the result of “ToU doesn’t mean you can treat people like sh**.”
