Fix stadium comp

I started grinding stadium comp because of the all star wuyang skin and its genuinely a nightmare. I’m currently pro 3 on support and the matchmaking seems so unbalanced, every damn time I get a team that won’t listen to comms split off run and die, yet the enemy’s are literally the most sweatiest tryhards alive. And there definitely needs to be a ban system. I am SICK of seeing soilder ashe and cass in every single game. And the rank up system is genuinely stupid. Like If I win a match I get 30% on the progression rank, but if I lose I drop down at least 60% and that’s including the “won match” protection which let’s be honest ducts it down by like 10% even though I’ve had matches that were 3-4, at least increase it for each match we won or something.

I answered this in another post and I’ll answer it here too.

Stadium was good while it was in beta, where we only had a limited roster to play with; it was balanced.

Now, adding a bunch of new heroes has completely broken the balance.

Unfortunately, playing support stadium (and honestly stadium in general) is if you’re not the hard carry, you’re probably going to lose. I made it to Legend on support last season and it’s grueling at times. The queues are extremely long and it’s no secret that the match quality gets worse as the queue time increases just to make a match.

Even at “high level” play in Stadium, people cannot adapt their build to play into the enemy team. They int hard and end up with like 3-21 k/d. The matchmaking can be so bad (and it knows!) that even after losing a match, I’ve lost a single point off my rank. My best advice is that you can climb in Stadium through sheer volume of games as you will pretty much always gain more than you lose.

I’m on a 5 loss streak and dropped to pro 4 so that’s really nice

Which supports are you playing? Into what type of teams?

I play wuyang kiri moira Juno and mercy, depending on the opposing team if they don’t have hitscan or poke I go mercy/Juno majority of the time I go wuyang

Depite how often she’s played Mercy is kinda doggy doodoo unless you’re in a pre-made team.

Wuyang, Kiri, Juno, and Moira are fine choices generally but you’re typically not going to be able to healbot to a W in stadium in most cases. Focusing on offensive or debuff builds on support that give you room to deal damage while hoping your co-support will pull their weight with healing is how you can rank up more.

If I’m unsure how to build around some counters, I usually use stadiumbuilds(.)io. Plus, youtube has a lot of great build guides and showcases that can give you an idea of how to flexibly modify builds to deal with your enemy teams.

I haven’t played Stadium since S2, but I remember I figured out a build on Moira where I was literally holding fire to healbot, and it was spitting orbs + orbs on cooldown and reset heal energy by fade, that left another healing orb after. My whole team was immortal.
And when it was a bad team against us, I used damage orbs, but the same strategy. I carried myself to the whole top

Moira is actually my main in Stadium. I typically use a hybrid weapon speed/AP build on her and just adapt it to whichever I think I’ll get more value from.

There is NO matchmaking outside of some loose matchmaking. Put it this way I’m top 50 Tank and I’m STILL getting matched vs Tanks that are playing there first game.

Stadium isn’t about giving you a balanced game but allowing you increase you winrate with skill…

This is why you can climb the lower ranks with a negaitive winrate.

If this is true… That’s a bug you should get more for a win than a loss in pro.

While I like the matchmaking as it’s akin to the hold CoD days to when you work out the game mode you roll lobbies. What I hate is that they don’t explain this to anyone… so no wonder people like you get annoyed your probably getting rolled by experience players and it’ll keep happening UNTIL you work out the game mode.

Quick tip, Stadium Competitive is filled with cheaters. I recommend picking heroes that can counter them and survive. Good luck!
