Fix MKB on console

People that use MKB on console get aim assist as well. Which is basically aimbot.

Either ban them or have controller and mkb specific settings.

Making posts here will change nothing on this.

Kbm on console is achieved through controller emulation.

Not much (if anything) they can do on the matter.

Actually this is 100% in Blizzard’s control. The reason MKB is emulated for console is because they have specifically locked out its use in Overwatch. Both XB and PS4 have native MKB support, and if the game developer allows it, they can be used in the game. I play FFXIV with MKB on console. No special console-specific ones either, just regular old Logitech I’ve had for almost 8 years now. They don’t allow it because it would be an ‘unfair advantage’ over controller players. The thing is, who doesn’t have a phone doesn’t have a mouse and keyboard laying around?

Just because they have it doesn’t mean they want to use it??

I myself prefer controller, which is why I got OW on console in the first place, because I’d be playing the game with other people that are on the same footing in that regard.

I don’t mind emulated kbm users as much because it’s still limited by controller limitations.

Emulated or not. They still have an unfair advantage over controller users. Diamond and above is littered with smurfs and mkb users.

I think smurfs are a bigger issue than kbm by a long shot.

Just me though.

No one would be forcing you to use it. You can use a controller on PC OW and no one bats an eye. It’s just dumb console isn’t allowed to at all, and the reasons behind it are complete rubbish.

Well no one is gonna care on pc because it gives no advantages over a control scheme that’s better for aiming which is used by most (if not all players).

It’s deliberate handicapping using a controller on pc, lol. That’s why no one cares in that case.

The thing is, a silver player is still going to be silver, you know? Changing the way you aim isn’t going to change your gamesense or positioning.

In my experience it seems like most MKB users are also smurfs.

I agree about this basically being an aimbot with aim assist. I’ve seen killcams where people are definitely using MKB (usually Widow) where the croshair will wait and then snap to a person’s head. Sometimes I think it’s people who are just good at “the flick”, but I think the aim assist makes it even easier to do that. So I agree, it is basically cheating.

I’m sitting at 2923 and just want to sneak into Diamond again. That’s all I care about every season. No sense in suffering with smurfs and cheaters who don’t get punished.

Anyone brave enough to tell me what converter they use?

Oh yeah, I’ve seen VODs of people using emu MKB on console, the aim assist is 100% cheating when combined.

Fortnite on console has specific controller and mkb settings. They’re allowing native mkb on Xbox One so why not PS4 as well?

Currently the most popular one. It’s not cheap either

I would argue m/kb users on console are way worse than aimbotters on PC because blizzard has the ability to identify when someone is using aimbotter software. Blizzard can’t do anything on consoles to get rid of them because m/kb users are emulating controller inputs with hardware not software.

I do think blizz should just open up m/kb to consoles. It wouldn’t get rid of users that are emulating with aim assist but it would pretty much get rid of anyone wanting to buy that emulation hardware because the advantage is way more slim

Say it again. Smurfs XIM users boosting people to higher ranks is all dumond matches are. And it is always the other team with the XIM smurf while you get the smurf named Torb Blaster 500 on your team…

I think it’s probably possible to detect it, assuming they dedicated resources to it. I’m pretty certain you could probably train a machine learning AI to tell the difference between someone running a KBM versus a controller. Since I doubt the emulation is perfect, so long as they’re willing to run input analysis on it, they’d likely find some inputs that are likely impossible on console with a controller, like instant changes of direction.

It’s more just an issue that Blizz couldn’t be bothered to do it. I mean it took them over a year to even have a report function in consoles.

From what I understand the hardware already emulates realistic analogue movement So there is an unnoticeable to a human amount of time to change direction. The only thing they could actually do is just start banning people with max sens because realistically no one can play with sens that high and move where your aiming in a controlled manner without inadvertently speeding up or slowing down your speed. And I highly doubt they store this data in a table somewhere. They probably don’t even store it for a match because it’s not relevant and would require far more storage and likely use more cpu power on the end user side
