Please fix Matchmaking, it’s completely trash. You either stomp the other team or they stomp you.
I’ve flipped a handful of games by switching characters. There are still counters. Just not as defined as OW1.
What about the rest of us that can barely play the game properly now?
I don’t care what you flipped, doesn’t change the fact, the matchmaker is trash currently.
Me changing to a different support isn’t going to change the game. The entire team has to be willing to do so, not just me.
For competitive games, all matchmaking is trash and has always been trash. And if people lose if not their fault, even when they refuse to switch off a hero that is getting countered.
Yup and it feels even worse than OW1.
Yes, but what you are missing there is they also take the entire team down with them. Unless you hard carry that person.
When I played properly back in OW1 I was playing Supp in high masters, right now the games placed me in gold and 7/10 games I will have DPS that just don’t do anything. Some games I can even out damage them when I’m not having to top people.
20 games today, won 1.
A new F2P game with a huge gameplay shift…
I saw this coming when 5v5/f2p was announced.
Still, it’s trash and it’s not enjoyable at all to have it over and over again.
Most F2P players aren’t playing competitive yet, at least not outside bronze/silver.
I have found in comp that stomps tend to be more common than they were in OW1, anecdotally. But I think it might be because of how screwy everyone’s SR was after the placement bug. It should stabilize over time to what it was like in OW1.
The way the new rank system measures where you are in OW2 is awful.
There hasn’t been nearly enough time to accurately place people, regardless of how good(or not) it is.
It’s the same system under the hood, aside from the initial drops to everybody’s SR. They just don’t show you every tiny SR change. I think it’s healthier to not be thinking about your rank so much every game.
In a completely random matchmaking system that makes no effort to balance at all, you should still have something resembling a 50/50 win rate. Terrible players are more likely to end up on the enemy team than your team, assuming you yourself are not terrible. For you to have a 4% win rate though, that is not a coincidence. You should think really hard about how your own play is keeping you at that rank.
Why are you trying to defend this mess?
The Matchmaking is a joke right now, it’s as simple as that.
Why am I defending MM? Because it has worked fine in the past. And this is a new version of OW, so it’s not going to be good until people put serious time into the game. The MM has to figure out who you suck with, who you are good at, which roles/characters do you excel or fail against.
If you’re a one trick, I can tell you you’re in for a bad experience for the duration.
Key word there, in the past. it’s NOT the same MM system as OW1
What’s different about the MM?
It’s logical that at this time, with these changes, the MM is going to be messy.
Not ever going to happen.
The goal of the matchmaking system, is more about preventing people from getting frustrated and Uninstalling because they never win a match… than making balanced matches…
While there are factors outside of blizzards control that certainly impact it… they only take a Fundamentally bad system and make it worse…
The matchmaking serves its intended function and does so adequately…
They dont care if it punishes you for solo queueing and not being stupid… because they know your not going to blindly throw money at the game
