I like how the purple drives look so I tried comp for the first time and every game (literally EVERY single one) is a complete stomp one way or another. I’m usually on the losing side. I’ve also been playing against obvious groups and as a solo queue player I think that is so stupid because it is literally not fair. Other games I have some one-trick tank that stands out in the middle of the open as the entire enemy team (counterswapped against my tank) deletes them instantly. Or DPS who go on some outrageous flank across the map and then get angry that they didn’t get any heals behind 3 walls. Or someone who thinks they’re on the way to the grocery store or something walking on the sidewalk and gets insta-sniped by a Widow across the map. I have had leavers, throwers, people who I honestly think were wintrading or are actual bots in every game. And since I’m going against so many 3/4 stacks, there’s definitely boosting or SOMETHING and I just keep getting stomped again and again. What is this? Is this how comp always is? This is the least fun I’ve had in any game. Does everyone just full tilt after every single game they play? Who in the world thinks this is fun?? I am well aware that I’m not a great player and I make my fair share of mistakes. I’m sure some people will be like “just get good and focus on yourself” or “mad cuz bad” but in a 5v5 TEAM based game it is very unfun and pretty much guaranteed unwinnable if you have people who play the game while drooling all over the screen on your team. I have played comp for the past 2 days and have 0 drive points or whatever they are. Not even a checkpoint. For every win, I lose like 3 times. All absolute stomps every time. I’m probably just gonna give up on getting the drives because this dogwater gaming experience is not worth it. I just wanted to complain because what the hell is this.
this event was made to encourage groups. you get a bonus 50 points JUST but grouping on all your wins so its like a 20-25% boost. If you are doing it solo it’s just going to take 20-25% longer by default.
I had one game with a leaver during this drive so far and on that game I actually noticed I did not lose ANY drive points and it was not on a check point so IDK there might be some leaver protection for an abandoned game when you werent the one to initiate it.
— I just got out of my last game to complete this drive. If this really is your first time in comp before you can even start earning any points to your drive you have to finish your placements. My honest opinion here I have no clue how you can say all that about competitive like it isn’t 10x worse in arcade/quick play lol. People leave QP games and mess around as a standard there. You mess around and do ridiculous strats and practice the hero’s you’d never touch in comp because you know you aren’t good at them. I’m not saying comp doesn’t have the same problems as QP but there’s visible penalties to that in the form of you just deranking and you can’t just throw / leave without penalties stacking up into a season ban.
you’re just having your first comp experience during a drive event that basically hands out a free gold/jade gun so you got all the QP enjoyers coming into comp for it + all the other first timers so the weekend will just look ugly. Don’t worry so much about it and take it for what it is. On AVERAGE assuming you have placements done I think the math works out if you solo its 7 to 10 hours to finish the drive event if you keep a 50% win rate…
— if you’re still reading this far I’ll give you a tip that might help you out to cheese this event. If you happen to do terribly in your placements (don’t throw on purpose plz) and place very low rank like bronze that’s great for your drive because you will get easy bronze lobbies that you can dominate it AND because you are fresh from placements you will still be in a ‘rapid calibration’ modifier. you can have SR gains as high as like 75% in a single game. A normal person only gets about 20%. The %'s during this drive give 10 pts per % so if you win your first game out of placements and score 75% you’ll get 750 drive points… you only need 3200 to complete the whole event so if you are lucky you might finish the entire thing in like 5 games if you win your easy bronze matches after placements.
My condolences.
I did both solo queue and 5 stack. Neither were fun. The matchmaking is bad. It’s always been like this in my experience. It actually used to be worse for me. There are smurfs and throwers, but they’re always there.
Screw people who are in a group and playing with a Solo player, this is so hard on both ends. If they want groups to succeed match them with groups strictly as well. Don’t blame the Q times as well, it is not our fault that many players are quitting this game already because of blizz’ doings.
yep if the game cant support solo vs solo structure it doesnt have the math to support a t500 structure. stop showing us t500 clowns in a game that doesnt even have 500 actives.
thats a skill issue , l2p pls!!
