Finally getting a PC!

So I was wondering, what do PC Tracer mains have set as their keybinds? I was thinking of getting a mouse with 4 buttons so I can shoot with M1, Blink with M2, Recall with M3, and Pulse with M4. That might be really confusing to get used to, but I can’t imagine having to Pulse with an actual key, and same for Recall.

What does everyone else use? Also, keybinds for characters like Echo and Cree would be nice if anyone has them.

One thing to note if you wanna be weird is that Overwatch is one of the only games that lets you play with an xbox controller AND mouse at the same time with virtually no weirdness. You could be weird and have a set-up like that.

I find it rather interesting on Tracer because it means you can do directions that are not increments of 45deg. Tracer without that means you must use your camera and arrow key directions to make any angle that is not those angles. Which means you have to lose tracking anytime you want to blink that isnt’ 45deg angles.

Hmm, can you do that with a playstation controller? Because I might actually like that a lot :joy:

For a short time I a long time ago I recall trying it, but had to run a 3rd party program that pretty much treated sony inputs as xbox controller inputs. I was able to get the Nintendo Switch to work with it as well doing some oddball setup with steam, but it ultimately lead to some weirdness I got tired of dealing with and just went with an xbox controller.

Honestly, I keep grinding down the joystick down to horrible wobbliness that I’ve yet to find something that can withstand a long time playing.

Ah, that’s unfortunate. I can’t do it at all if it’s clunky because it’ll bug me a lot and I can’t play Xbox. Can’t you use two keys at the same time to Blink at a different angle though? Like A and S for going back and to the left?

Blink is default on shift i think so you don’t have to stop being able to fully move to blink

That’s what I meant by 45deg angles. WASD is up, left, right down. WASD and two at the same time is NW, NE, SW, SE directions. Any direction between say N and NW you have to adjust with the camera.

Those angles can sometimes mean the difference of blinking straight into a wall versus actually avoiding getting caught on a corner.

Oh that’s gonna take some time to get used to :joy:

On console you can obviously just Blink in any direction, and then adjust with your camera in the Blink. It’s gonna be hard adjusting to not being able to do that.

I don’t know if I’d be good enough at using a keyboard to use Shift though. When I played dbd on PC I had everything bound to my mouse. I don’t like using my left hand for anything but movement.

blink is bound to shift and right click by default, you should use rclick but having the double bind is nice. recall is e so its super easy to reach, you should keep mostly default binds + melee on mouse side buttons because melee is essential for tracer. i have push to talk on mouse 5 and melee on mouse 4. i wouldn’t recommend using mouse wheel for anything cus it’s easy to make misinputs with it imo,

Ooh I totally forgot about melee! Yeah gotta have that on the mouse. I don’t like push to talk so I probably won’t bind that to anything.

Oh I learned that from dbd way back :joy:

It is useful for flicking flashlights at light speed though

clickclickclicky light. i use push to talk cus i don’t want my team to hear me like breathe and smack my lips and stuff lmao but open mic is easier definitely easier. But q ult and e recall are quite easy imo but maybe bind one of em to the mouse side buttons idk. i have the same binds for all characters though lol, i used to have crouch and ga bound to mouse buttons on mercy back in ow1 though for the superjump… man i miss the og superjump loll

I’ll have to bind Pulse to the mouse. I gotta use some precision thing I aim with as a keybind for it. Rn it’s L3.

I’m gonna have to do that too lol, I love playing Mercy

Get NVME had drives.

Don’t get a 4070.

Get atlteast a 550w PSU.

Do keybinds that suit you, not what other people are doing same with mouse sensitivity just because someone uses x doesn’t mean you’ll suit the same

While I do like this advice, I haven’t played on PC since 2016 and would like some starting point rather than fiddling around with settings. And until I figure out how to perfect adjusting dpi, I’m just going to copy Kabajis dpi and sens for now.

Once I play with it I’ll get a grasp and make modifications, I just need a good starting point.

Set the keybinds like this: Q for Blink, E for Recall, Left Shift for Pulse Bomb.

Actually, set it up like that for every hero. It’s FAR better to have your abilities near that W key and have the ultimate on left shift.

Also, move your crouch from Left Ctrl to F. Way, way, way better and less stress on fingers.

Hey, congrats on the pc man. I don’t play tracer but a piece of key binding advice for all games. Map mele to the thumb button on your mouse instead of trying to use the keyboard for it. I can’t remember if Overwatch has it bound to thumb or not, it’s the first thing i do in any game that allows mele

That makes sense, especially on a character who relies a lot on melee.

Also, you don’t play Tracer but you have a Tracer pfp? That’s confusing lol
