FFA Maps in a nutshell 🥜

Chateau:
Small space where everyone is next to each other. Kill stealing common on this map as well snipers. Most the community likes this map and it’s the mascot for tryhard ffa servers.

Petra:
A large space where you can actually 1v1 with people and have more control in spaces. But everyone is far from one another after a fight. Only map in this game where you can’t find anyone under 15 seconds. Least favorite FFA map that the community agrees on.

That’s it. Unless the FFA variant maps on arcade selection count, but there’s only 2 original FFA maps in this game.

Keep in mind that Originally Deathmatch wasn’t even going to be in the game.

But now that they’ve added it some more maps for the mode would be nice

Yeah. It would be great if there were more FFA maps added into this game. I bet some people would say “but it’s a team based game and they ain’t gonna make another map for this mode” yet Petra exists.
it would be great if there was a map creator so there can be more FFA maps to play by the community, for the community.

Petra is so large that they had to increase the afk timer cause people were getting kicked while just trying to find someone

I love Petra but yeah it is way too big. By the time I get to a fight sound, everyone’s dead and gone.

Compare to Chateau, which feels too small and cramped.

Oddly, Necropolis feels just right. Maybe make more maps like Necropolis. Blizzard World is just meh since it’s just fight over the one decent healthpack: the map.

A 3D map for mobility heroes where everything is vertical, ground pounders like McCree need not apply

For me it would be Hollywood FFA. It just feels great to play that map since it’s a familiar environment to play on. Also, it’s great to fight in green room.

Havana is actually pretty fun for ffa

It’s a tough call on which is the best map in Overwatch:

  1. Chateau

or

  1. King’s Row

(side note: The FFA version of King’s Row is alright)

I never played on Havana ffa. Which points do they section off in that map?

2nd point it’s close range though but fun

Just to elaborate. How about a large building under construction and the FFA area is 20 stories above the ground. Top three to five floors are exposed i-beams, platforms and partly raised walls, no stairs or ladders, but full of scaffoldings, piles of construction materials. Surrounding buildings rooftops and billboards give alternate perches and cover outside the center area. Outside the building is a 20 story drop (dead), and inside has a lot of holes on the ground to fall through (dead). Widowmaker slingshotting over a crane won’t have a straight shot down because the platforms overlap just enough to cover the lower levels.

If you want to get good on this map, you’ll need Winston, D.va, Widowmaker, Hanzo, Genji, Sombra, etc. since the platforms aren’t connected. There’s a ramp along the outer perimeter and a few elevators, but they’re exposed and considerably slower than if you just climb, jump, swing, fly or teleport.

I liked Hollywood FFA, we need more of that
