Fewer dps Moira means more healing for the team

Not that I agree with the damag enerf but it will discourage Moira doing damage for the sake of doing damage, this makes them more focused on healing. Nobody likes a dps Moira as enemy or as teammate.

And with the healing buff, that means death ball style (strong vs Genji) is a little bit stronger.

Genji vs Moira interaction…well, instead of outskilling Moira by a factor of 10, maybe it’s now a 5, maybe 8. I dunno.

I see this as an absolute win for the health of the game.

Bit of a wash to me personally when I ran her on XP. To secure an elim you need to spend 20% more time - that’s 20% that could have been used to heal. Now, you just have to depend on the heal buff to make up. She’s far from trash though.

Not true. Moira’s will heal less now, since it will take longer to finish off targets.

You don’t need to finish off target to heal. Let other teammates finish off target. You just heal and do damage when you don’t need to heal or to recharge.

Not at all.
It’s similar to how people were complaining about Mercy never damage boosting after her heals were nerfed… you gotta do the one thing longer now… DPS moira’s will still exist but those who actually also heal will still try to go for the finish first because noone likes playing a pure healbot.

Nerfing Moira’s healing will make her have to focus on healing more! = Moira now has to attack more to recharge her healing resource to equal out on healing lost

Nerfing Moira’s self heal from attacking will sort this DPS Moira out! = Moira now has to spend more time attacking people to heal herself properly

Nerf Moira’s damage, that will surly end it! = Now Moira has to spend even MORE time attacking to defend herself or her fellow support meaning even MORE need for DPS Moira

Literally every single Nerf Moira has had minus the Orb changes has been pushing her MORE towards needing to spend more time attacking than healing to make up for what she has lost

No it doesn’t. It means slower coalescence charge.

Not really. I heal most of the time with Moira but I used my grasp to get rid of Genji or Tracer. Now it doesn´t work really - I will have to throw a dmg orb to get rid of them. I Prefered to throw rather healing orb. This will really make Moiras to use more purple orbs. I would rather have her dmg orb nerrfed or her grasp range. That would make people to use more healing orbs.

Pretty sure the majority of ult charge come from spray heal and orb. Ult charge gained from beam is peanuts.

Not sure if Moira will actually get coals slower. She lost 10 ult charge/s from beam but gained 5/s per teammate from sprays.

I’d be fine with it if it wasn’t a net nerf

This does bring a smile to my face

Yeah, I wish my team cares more for protecting their healers from flankers.

This is a very damage-focused mindset and is the wrong way to play Moira. The only change that forced Moira to do more damage was the healing nerf (m1, not self-heal), that’s it.

Moira is in close combat range to heal (15 metres) meaning she is going to take some form of damage, and also puts her as an easier target to jump onto if things go sour.

Zen, Ana, and Baptiste can all play from range
Lucio and Brig have their own powerful self peel abilities
And Mercy has GA as well as a passive that takes effect after not taking damage for 1 second

And when you play Moira with an Ana/ Mercy/ Baptiste; YOU have to peel for them because of Moira’s design. It is, and always will be, WAY more effective at stopping someone trying to kill a support if one support heals, and the other attacks.

It’s literally why Zen/ Brig were the go to supports before Echo’s launch and the Ashe buffs which killed of Winston’s value.

You’ve forgotten that Moira needs to deal damage in order to recharge her healing.

So you’re wrong. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I really don’t understand how people still do not know how Moira works after all this time …

Moira was designed the way she was so healers could finally stop being nothing but easy fodder for flankers. I couldn’t tell you the number of times I’ve been attacked by Genji or Tracer as a Support and had no one come to my rescue. This is in Diamond, too.

A nerf as a behavioral change is not only stupid in itself but goes against the very nature of how Moira was built. You also can’t arm twist the dps Moira who doesn’t already take advantage of her excellent heals.

Even though how she plays is the same, what’s need to get roughly the same results as before means spending more time doing damage. This will not do what you want it to

And that has not changed. She still gains the same amount of resources (18~ units per sec). The damage literally changed nothing about that gain.

Except, whereas Moira got 72 energy succing a 200 hp hero before damage nerf, she will get 90 energy from succing a 200 hp hero post damage nerf.

Wouldn’t the reverse is also true? She heals faster so she will have extra time to do her purple beam thing?

Some more much needed good news.
