Fellow Brig mains

It’s time to enjoy her while it last. We’re finally going to be allowed to participate in comp but with the combination of these forums and Twitch streamers we should expect the worse. It was fun to play her at her current state but just like how they did Doomfist and mainly all the other new heroes it’s probably downhill from here.

Yes I agree that it is fun to play as the strongest 1v1 close range duelist in the game with a stun ability on a 5 second cool down. Obviously that is going to be fun.

But it needs to be nerfed.

Or you could try not trying to kiss her?

Just because she is Melee doesn’t mean you have to be.

She brought a Mace to a Gun-Fight use it.

I mean, it’s not so simple when you are required as a tank to play on the objective which falls right into Brigitte’s range. “just trying not to kiss her” isn’t a realistic view point.

She was designed with intention of stuffing flankers, not the main tanks.

When people talk as though Rein would be the only tank on point. I’ve played with Brig for quite a while and stunning 1 tank won’t help anything aside from them being sponged because their healers are actually doing their job. Her stun hits all the heroes in the game. Stop trying to act like she’s some unstoppable force when in a team fight things won’t always be how they seem. She can’t handle backliners and tanks at the same time in the same space. People are just afraid of learning how to counter her lol.

Again, I agree that she is fun, but from an objective stand point she counters too many heroes with one ability. Her best counters consist of junkrat and pharah (arguably), who are very easily countered. Literally just play Dva/soldier/pharah comps and your brigitte will have free reign on point to stun spam tanks.

Season 10 will be released soon, so we can see how the best players in the game manage to counter her (streamers/owl).

i mean people with half a brain will go hog and hook rein for an EZ kill, hopefully its not too common

Sorry, and which tank are you playing that Brigitte completely negates?

God I hope this answer is Reindhart so we can discuss how 3 swings of his melee kills Brigitte after her stun combo is done, or Orisa who can use Defense Matrix to ignore stun, Halt to move her back and burn her down at range, Roadhog who can blast her in the face with a spread of nails that can 2-shot her, Zaraya who can bubble to ignore stun, plus use secondary fire to bypass her shield with parallel splash damage…

If a Brigitte SB’s a Rein and then drops her shield momentarily to do damage to him in a team fight, a well placed Counter SB from a Brigitte, a well placed Flashbang, can allow time for your team to follow up and kill her by doing one thing that ruins every other hero in the game “focusing” her. Also, a well placed hook during that time can easily separate her from her own team allowing your team to punish her for being out of position for trying to get the Rein shield down. I’ve seen it happen countless times now to people who try to SB me.

Brig is easily dealt with if you run splash damage characters, or at the very least keep your distance and focus her shield down. My hope is the comp crowd quickly figures this out and answers her appropriately.

The QP crowd still frequently runs hilariously bad compositions against their opposing team and makes no effort to counterpick enemy compositions (see: double snipers vs. dive comps), so I really hope Blizzard takes that into account when balancing her in the future.

So much this. You have hit the nail on the head. In most cases, you see much better team compositions in Comp vs QP. Sure you might get the occasional 3 or 4 dps and hey sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. But lately I’ve seen people cooperating, (specifically down in gold on my alt account) and communicating with each other rather than tilting.

I guess I just see things differently? My play time is spread out over most of the hero classes and I’ve played since launch, and no hero dominates their effective range like Brigitte with such low effort.

Hopefully Blizz can find a good middle ground between being able to counter dive heroes and making her useless/niche.

Whoa. Where are people getting these good compositions in comp? These forums seem to only view things in a negative light when its to their advantage. Comp is terrible because everyone picks dps. Brigs counters bad comps and people immediately go that people in comp will pick teams to shut her down. XD. Seriously though. I hate the hero with a flaming passion because how she is countered.

“Don’t go near it ever.” If its alive then stay away. If its dead then run when it respawns. If its doing anything at all then pretty much every hero in game needs to avoid her unless accompanied by a buddy.

And yet, you can almost completely invalidate her effective range by staying outside of 6 meters. Whip Shot only makes her engaging you harder without using her Shield Bash as a closing tool.

If any brigitte has to venture past the front lines to get to DPS or Support, she has already made herself like 270 degrees vulnerable to her enemy and that should be grossly exploited without delay.

Comp has a lot of issues, yes, but in general people take it more seriously and put more effort into picking strong compositions. Obviously there are bad games where everyone is a DPS or whatever.

QP has a higher population of people that don’t take the match seriously, don’t really care about winning, or are only there to practice aim, or whatever. That’s fine, it’s a super casual mode, but it’s also not a good place to judge the overall strength of a new hero.

I pretty much always get 2-2-2 comps. Not sure why your luck is so bad. What rank do you play in?

It is kind of interesting though. I mainly flex Tank/support, but this season I have been forced to play DPS more than any other season. I don’t mind playing DPS, but it really has felt weird that most of the players on my teams are tank/supports as well.

Yeah, but with the way the maps work, players are forced to get near her if they want to play the objective. If staying at range was easy, she would never of been playable.

I’m also looking forward to load up the game just to not being able to actually play the game because all you do is getting stunned, over and over and over and over again.
