Since we increased it by another 10000 cant we do the same rather than open one Megathread after another this is the official Megathread 9

It looks bad that we trying to hide a nearly 19000 comment thread… and well rather thanvhide just show, the thread not going to be read anyways so you may as well expand the limit to 30000 or 40000

How much of a decision is that, really? If you could tempo res to win a fight, you would do it. If not, you would hide. Sounds like current res TBH.

Not really, because mega 5 rez and tempo rez can really screw you over if done at the worst time.

Example: 2 team mates died to a Reaper who flanked you, you rez them and suddenly a Nuke drops on your head and wipes everyone but the Mercy who is now all alone without a rez to bring everyone back.

Example 2: 2 team mates die, but the Mercy waits a few seconds and is rewarded for their patience with being able to rez 4 or 5 team mates. Unfortunately, since no ults were used to kill them, your team is immediately Hammered to the ground and consumed by Hanzo’s Dragons. You’re all now dead, fed the enemy team more Ult charge AND you no longer have rez. Giving up the point would have been a better option.

Valkyrie is literally ‘I wonder how long my team mates will sit together to benefit this slight advantage?’ before realizing that you’re only healing/boosting two people because your flanker took off to fight a battle they probably will lose if not careful and one of your tanks has gone off to take care of someone back capping while the other is being destroyed by a Tracer in the corner.

Valkyrie is little more than a sky view babysitting job. Sure, it gives you free mobility with flight, but that’s honestly all it does. Pharah does that NATURALLY as a passive; so how is that much stronger than someone who does it all the time without need of an Ult?

can i barge in?
i’d do it anyway,
because it’s an ult, then if you did something stupid with it, just like any other ults that charges by how well you play, you’ll waste something valuable to the fight. now with the 30 sec cooldown, the ability is basically given every 30 ish sec, you’ll get the same amount of it and not really have to think hard to use it, is it on? use it.

No It’s not the same. You not have to think in battle to use the current ress, you have only to see if is safe or no to use.

Right, I’m starting to see your perspective. I disagree of course, the 3.0 Mercy makes me zone out less when I play her, compared to earlier iterations. But that’s just personal opinion.

What would it take to bring back decision making while not “bothering others” with multi-res?

A question many have been asking; there were multiple suggestions on the mega thread, but they’ve gotten lost in all the posts. Trying to go through it now causes you to jump around.

I will never stop expressing my dislike for rez on E. I don’t understand how Blizzard could put what many expressed as “discouraging” and forum goers called “frustrating” on a cooldown. It absolutely sucks to do (no ability with all those limitations feel great) and when you’re on the other team it feels cheap because you know the Mercy didn’t do anything to deserve it - in theory she could literally be standing in a corner and only come out to rez, kinda like people accused her of doing before.

Rez on E has ruined the character for me; it’s not about losing her old ult and getting a new one, it’s about how she still feels like she has an ability that is too strong for her base kit despite everything.

I will never again main her for as long as rez functions the way it currently does.

Wait so we broke 20k and still no reply from them besides making a new thread? Do they want us to feel ignored and frustrated or what?

No idea, I think they expect us to become bored of trying to express our concerns in the end. It wouldn’t honestly surprise me if the entire forum staff have this thread on ‘mute’ so they don’t even get notifications or see it on the threads list.

At least they acknowledge that ‘the current state of Mercy has continued to be a major subject within the community‘ but continue to do nothing about it, even small QoL changes? Not even a statement from them about future changes if there are any or if there are no plans? It’s incredibly frustrating, it just feels extremely rude when nearly every other major topic has been addressed in recent months.

I suggest in the old megathread a rework of valkyrie. You have only the free Flight and 5 ress charge, and you have to Ress your teammates One by one in 8s valkyrie. No chain beam, only for ressing.
Like the old mass ress, but you not Ress all your teammates instant, you have to Ress them One by one (you have to be near them For ress like now) and you can be killed during this time.
I don’t know if this would make her OP, but i don’t think it. Mass Ress was not OP, only sometimes annoying because it was instant

How would that encourage decision making?

Is like old Ress but not instant, so the decision making would be the same of Mercy 1.0, i think

Welcome to the next level of Mercydom Mega Thread:

The true issue with Mercy?

Mercy’s power with “E” & “Q” is too locked-up in passive stats that cannot be executed with greater effect because they are automatic and only work in one dimension.

Chained beams have no room for improvement in there use.

Rez has no variation (its press “E”, wait and done).

Sort of exactly like a mix between 1.0 and 2.0. But Mercy is never getting multi-res back. So you never answered my question: What would it take to bring back decision making while not “bothering others” with multi-res?

The problem is the core design of Valkyrie does not alowe it to have more decision making than her base kit already offers. Give it more it becomes OP (must pick status), give it less and it’s balanced, but boring and bland as hell.

The point is that Mercy need’s an Ult which works with her kit and not empowers it. If it’s just empowered, nothing changes about the way you play her. The point of an Ult is that you can make a big play by changing your strategy in a drastic way. Even widow and Sym do that, but not Mercy. Mercy stays the same the entire time.

The end result is that Mercy needs an Ult with instant impact. Like Reinhardt or Lucio. It can be Mass Res (would be the easiest and most balanced solution) but something with an equal impact would be fine.

A Transformation Ult is no fit for Mercy

You don’t need to play smarter, you are way too save, it has no room for the player to improve and it’s boring, bland, not thrilling and uninteresting.

Can you elaborate on that? Because i can have an entire dinner during Valkyrie.

Sure! To begin with, I’ve always had problems playing Mercy because it makes me zone out (IDK, I’m just wired that way). It’s not that she doesn’t need to aim, I really like Rein and Winston, it’s just that I stop paying attention and think about other things. The 3.0 Mercy with only 1 res forces me to pay more attention, 2.0 was better than 1.0 for my attention span, but I could still just bail people out. Valk feels a bit exciting to me because I feel that I have to balance damage boost and chain heal (but I’ve barely played Mercy in comparison).

The majority of the game switching between beams and flying around is where I zone out.

Playing Mercy just isn’t my cup of tea.

To me the issue is single point does not require good positioning by you or your teammates.

I think Rez needs to AOE for it to have the ability to variation through the concept of good positioning = better Rez.

It should be locked within Valkyrie only. The regular “E” could be a burst heal instead that allows you chance to aid two teammates.

Meanwhile Valkyrie loses it chained beams and gains the AOE Rez that has a limited range maybe 12 meter radius (instead of the old 15 m), Rez gets charged during Valkyrie. You can use it early to AOE heal, but then you have to charge it again. If it becomes fully charged and the is used it burst heals the living teammates and revives the teammates in a 12 meter radius around you which then ends Valkyrie.

The counter play to this is to use the charging window beginning with the start of Valkyrie to the potential time it takes to get Rez available maybe 7 secs to charge full, but 4 seconds to charge up to just burst heal.
