I really feel like you didn’t read the post at all as the entire argument was her not being fun or engaging rather than her being ‘balanced’ at the moment. But, I don’t think a non-Mercy player will ever understand as Mercy now has a much harder time undoing their precious kills in a largely objective based game.
Edit: and also xavvy I think it would be nice to provide a TL;DR as I think only Mercy players will ever read a post that long about Mercy lol but I completely and utterly could not agree more.

Out of a curiosity if you find the mercy gameplay not fun or rewarding. Then why are you a mercy main to begin with?
There must be something you like about the character?

I for one hold onto something which I once loved, and mainly stay for her guardian angel and staff which set her apart from other characters,

Mercy was fun and rewarding BEFORE the rework. Resurrect as an ultimate required a high skill of strategy and planning, and being able to outsmart and outplay your enemies. It was also earned, rather than being handed out freely every 30 seconds.
Then the rework happened and tossed ALL of Mercy’s skill requirements out the window. She’s now completely brainless to play, with a no-skill-no-impact ult, and a useless single Rez on a ridiculous cast time.

bruh she’s the second most used support in the pro scene? She was always unfun to play.

If you ask me, i’d say it’s because I’ve connected with her more than I did any other character/hero. I love being a main healer and having my teammates depend on me, and I love being that Guardian Angel. It’s all about the connection.
We stay as Mercy mains even with all the nerfs because we fell in love with her. To us, she is our hero of choice no matter what. So the only thing we can do to keep her from dying is to fight for her. Which is what we are doing now.

I skimmed through it and from what I can see… I agree.
I’m also tired of those who claim Mercy is fine but haven’t even played as her this competitive season (or barely played her). To get a fair viewpoint you need to play both as Mercy and against Mercy to understand what’s right or wrong at the moment.
I’d settle for a shorter ultimate which has more potential impact as a result. I don’t care about a revert or mass resurrect, I just want something that makes me use my brain a bit and feels engaging and not something that makes me want to sleep after a while.

Well ok but it was a long time ago and the ult Rez is probably not coming back so…
Maybe it is time to find another main if the new mercy is no longer fun, just saying.

Because when you truly love something, you want it to be improved and grow. You’re super critical about it’s success and you want it to be the best something it can be. I’m sure that rings true for a lot of people who main their favorite hero.
I am incapable of doing that, so that’s simply not an option for me. Way too much of a fighter. Call me stubborn. Sorry!

Just give it up. They will never revert her. Move on like I did. Haven’t played mercy since they first nerfed her failed rework.

Roadhog is unfun to play too and in addition to that very frustrating due to his inconstancy but nobody cares.
please don’t overexagerate I have 100+ hours in pre rework mercy and she is still my most played hero across all mode
needless to say mercy skill requirement is the lowest in the game
because of her unablity to transfer skill sets onto another hero all of mercy skill requriements are just things you need to play every other single hero
yes cause we all know how changing the ult drastically changes the kit

You generalize mercy’s ult so much it’s not even funny.
She’s fine where she’s at. No way in hell people are gonna want comp to revert back to “find the mercy”.

And here’s an example I was on about, you say she’s fine but your career profile says you have no hours on Mercy this competitive season so how can you honestly make a fair analysis from both viewpoints

You’re telling me that a person who plays the exact same game with you and against you doesn’t understand how mercy works?
Guess you better not complain about anything not pertaining to mercy then.
Mercy is still the best low skill cap support in the game (Zen being best overall, but he has a high skill cap). At the end of the day, some people prefer her the way she is now, and there are also 26 other heroes in the game, the majority of which are more fun in most peoples eyes. She’s in a highly balanced state re: the pro meta so she is not going to get touched again for a long time. Just move on dude.
The problem with this is people didn’t counterplay the fact that Mercy would isolate herself and could be easily ruined by dive, which is now so heavily ingrained in the meta. People just complained and asked for a nerf.
Do you really think Mercy would have the same affect now, knowing that Tracer/Genji and D.va are almost guaranteed to be in any high ranking game?
