If one aspect of a hero is boring, you get creative with their abilities. Rein would be incredibly dull if he was based entirely around his shield and had nothing to work with in terms of utility. The same goes for Mercy, she’s dull because all she does is heal. The most fun part about her kit is the slingshot you can get from guardian angel.
