Feedback: China Receiving All Items for Free

So, Overwatch 2 has returned to China, and during this period, all players, including new players, are able to earn two years’ worth of rewards for free, including 9 mythic skins, all rewards from battle passes from Season 1 to Season 9, and about 1000 items for free.

Good for Chinese players, it’s very awesome that they are receiving items worth $3,000 - $4,000 for free. It looks very generous for them.

But I was waiting and expecting Blizzard to at least give us something for free as well, as “we all are celebrating” Overwatch 2’s return to China. Unfortunately, I received ZERO, nothing, not a single word about receiving anything for this “celebration”…

Frustrating, to say the least.

I feel bad that I am not valued by the company I have been part of since 2004. How else should I feel when I had to spend significant amounts of money, and you just give everything for free to such a large player population, without mentioning giving us, your loyal players, anything?

This is actually the biggest wake-up call ever. You are differentiating the player base. You do not care about your loyal customers. This is not right and fair. You could have at least offered HALF of those items you are handing out for free in China as a “celebration” for sticking together all around the world for Overwatch 2.

We are the ones who made this game big, we are the ones who funded this game, yet we received nothing, while you give so much to China for FREE… I hope someone from the dev team reads this, listens, and actually steps in to reward your loyal player base with FAIR rewards for free as a celebration for Overwatch 2’s return to China.

There is still time, and that would mean a lot to me and people like me.

Please listen to this feedback.

Justice for your loyal customers all around the world and for all Overwatch 2.

I’m enjoying all the free stuff I am getting from the lootboxes. While I was actually able to play the game the past 2 years when they couldn’t.

The items aint worth 4k$ they are priced at 4k$, they are in fact literally worthless

And if you’re spending 4k$ on a FREE video game you spend most of your time complaining about, then there’s bigger issues you should be addressing

And making ANOTHER rant post about a non issue isn’t going to do anything lol

If they realistically rewarded them with items that were purchasable only with coins earned for free, I’d have no issue with it. Fair’s fair.

But they didn’t do that. No, they went out of their way to 9x the amount of items given to the Chinese players that they could not have possibly earned even if they had access to the game for 2 years.

How is that all fair to people who were actively keeping your player numbers up, grinding day in, day out during what was considered objectively the worst era of Overwatch ever? Like these players are the only reason that the Chinese market has somewhere to return to in the first place and yet they treat these players like disposable trash.

I’m happy for them. Also a wake up call. We are not either" part of them" or their friends. They aim towards our wallets, they gave several stuff for free to attract folks to play their game. Chinese market it is on it’s own league for several years already.

You were mistaken to consider this:

We never meant to be something, still folks have that illusion.

Old days they tried to provide something fair and asked several stuff at reasonable price but some way higher than should.

Gamers doesn’t know how, smartly, to vote with their wallets, they in fact are responsible to the current situation.

You should be happy for the chinese portion. But expecting to be as important than them is just being picky. There’s a reason why they did this and the reason is because CN is way bigger market for them than most of the world. Blizzard sells a ton in china that the values on rest of the world pales in compairson.

Feedback: please stop making threads about the Chinese getting free stuff.

It affects me in no way that other people in another region got free stuff. I’d much rather have been able to play the game for the past 2 years than be given some cosmetics that were available while the game was banned…

Especially when this season is giving us tons of items from lootboxes. We just got a system rewarding us for playing…

Oh look it’s THIS thread again. How many times have you made this thread? Is it three or four times now? :man_facepalming:

Yet they aren’t bothered about the Belgian players not getting stuff everyone else gets.

Hypocrisy. Entitlement. Pathetic.

Good. Hope they get even more.

It’s a spam copy paste job as it’s posting it on the EU forums too.

Needs banning.

It’s incredibly frustrating and disheartening to see such a massive disparity in how players are treated.

The fact that they went above and beyond to give Chinese players an overwhelming amount of items that couldn’t realistically be earned, even if they’d had access to the game for two years, is just unacceptable.

This kind of treatment is not only unfair but also incredibly demoralizing for players who have invested time, money, and passion into the game. Blizzard needs to recognize and value its loyal player base instead of making them feel like a trash.

It’s time for Blizzard to address this disparity and ensure fair treatment for all players, regardless of their region.

All you’ve invested is time into crying while making false cheater accusations…

If this annoys you so much, and the not cheating cheaters annoy you… Why you playing the game, why you posting videos on your YouTube channel about it, why you buying skins.

The way you act makes this post look more like xenophobia towards Chinese players, rather than highlighting something problematic

Since Chinese players can’t even access the open internet, I am happy they get this free stuff

lets think about this from a business standpoint.

resources were used to create ‘product a’ product a can be used in properties from blizz to activision to king

now, since there are certain rules that need to be followed, the value of creating product a that the company will use to create a finished product, does in fact have a value attached to it.

you may not like it, but that does not matter.
