Favorite hero for a specific map/mode?

Do you find yourself picking the same hero often on a particular map or game mode? I’ve got a few preferences myself;

  • Lucio
    Besides the obvious ones (Ilios & Lijang), I always play Lucio in deathmatch while I’m in queue. I don’t remember when or why I started doing it, but I just try to go around the maps as fast as possible and/or try to play the floor is lava until my queue pops.
  • Baptiste
    When I’m playing support in open queue, 80% of the time I’m playing Baptiste (10% of the time I’m on Moira, and the remaining 10% I divide between the rest of the support roster). I don’t think he’s the most effective support most of the time, but for some reason I just always find him fun to play in the open queue format.
  • Winston
    If I load into a match on Watchpoint: Gibraltar, and I’m on tank, I refuse to play anything other than Winton.
  • Soldier 76 & Reaper
    In TDM, I don’t play any other damage heroes besides these 2. (I’ve tried Mei, but I pretty much only like playing her in the regular game modes). I think their simplicity is what makes them fun for me in TDM, where the objective is to just shoot and kill the enemies more times than they shoot and kill you.

tracer: sublevel map on antarctica

its a certified playground for tracer. everything is perfect blink distance

Sombra: Lijiang and New Queen Street - The health packs seem to be in perfect locations for these maps.

Lucio: Any cart map but def King’s Row - The cart provides good cover while you spam the sides of it especially the narrow streets. Also, it seems like the team stays closer together so healing multiple teammates is much easier.

I might get flamed for this buuuuut… I like playing Sigma in Deathmatch. He’s so goofy and fun, but I understand how frustrating tanks in Deathmatch are. I only use him on Petra.

Pharah on 1st part of Rialto to dunk anyone coming across the bridge.
Pharah on Junkertown defense because there’s almost always a Widow and I punish her trying to leave spawn.
