Hey LGBTQ+ers,
I know this month has been pretty rough for you with the recent OW Lore and the Undivided Webtoon, so how about a discussion of your favorite fantasy couples?
I’ll start:
Lifeweaver and Venture - After seeing the Atlantic Arcology Motion Comic with Lifeweaver and Venture, I could totally see a romantic relationship between these charming bunch. Very different personalities but contrasting in a great way. 
Lifeweaver and Baptiste - Theres some flirty voice interactions between the two that make for some great chemistry. I think they could make a great couple with similar calm but collected personalities.
Wuyang and Baptiste - A pretty far-out couple for sure, but I could see it working! Plus, Baptiste grew up in the Tropics surrounded by lots of water and Wuyang is a water bender. Plus, they both like making jokes. It could be romance! 
Pharah and Sierra - i know, theres no indication that Sierra is Bi or Lesbian, but lets say she was. What a better match-up than these two! Both are soldiers at heart and Sierra might have a mixed ethnic background like Pharah. They both also have that smug confidence that they share. 
Sierra and Sojourn - In Sierra’s lore motion video, Sierra and Sojourn become fast friends. But what if they were more? They both have leadership qualities that could translate into a shared romance filled with mutual respect and strong wills 
I’m solidly old school.
I’m still on the WidowTracer and Reaper76 train and no amount of canon NPC love interests will ever get me off. I’m also still holding only the tiniest flicker of hope Yeehan can become a thing. And Baptiste…he deserves better, but I can’t help but be into the toxic ex thing with Mauga 
As far as the newer queer ships, Dominetta is the main one I vibe with. Although fan art has me thinking I might well end up shpping Soujorn and Shion hard, that dynamic is certainly high potential.

Those old skool ships do make a lot of sense. Im still trying to figure out who Yeehan is. Han is Hanzo right, but Yee? 
Mauga and Baptiste does make a lot of sense, especially with their lore past being friends who worked together.
Domina and Vendetta would be a great match-up! So much potential with those two! Then Shion and Sojourn? Oof! From enemies to lovers? 
Talk about a plot twist!
I have heard the Solider: 76 and Reaper concept before. I could see that. I personally would go with Reaper and Cassidy, since they were both part of Talon and could have started their relationship there. I know some guys will realize they are gay after a straight marriage/relationship.

It’s Cassidy x Hanzo. Mchanzo ship needed a new name after the change so now it’s a pun on yee-haw lol.
I think you mean Blackwatch, but yeah, I’m pretty sure Cass is Reaper’s 2nd most popular ship. The age gap and power dynamics are a little far for me (not that I haven’t gone for worse 
), but I can certainly see the reasoning.

Oooh. So, Reaper (or Gabriel Reyes as he was known then) is a peer to Solider 76 and Ana, he and 76 became homies in the same super solider program pre-Overwatch.
Wiki says he’s 60 years old…not that one would know that by his emo edge lord behavior or some of the skins Blizzard has been giving him

Stuff like this is why Wuyang should have left open/unconfirmed. I know people will headcanon regardless, but it’s more fun when the main story itself supports headcanons by virtue of leaving some stuff blank.

Facts.
Once it becomes canon and part of the Lore story, its tough to imagine it being anything else. Its better to keep it ambigious, in my opinion.

I only wish Blizzard takes note of all the discussion this caused here, on reddit, and on X. I think it may be too late because the comic might as well have been produced months ago and it’s just a mater of releasing, but they still can call it non canon or say something, idk

That would be nice. I know the Devs read the Bug Reports forum from time to time and theres some hints they read General sometimes, but Story Discussion? Thats a curious question
It would be curious to see a multi-platform poll on this subject. Do most players want the Wuyang-Juno relationship? Or do they want it to be more ambiguous with Wuyang being Bi? Or possibly Gay or even Questioning? Or do most players not really care and a small vocal minority who wants to see these relationships in the Lore?

Hmmmm, well, polls are easily manipulated.
I just wish everyone could win without feeling alienated, you know? 
I still find it hard to believe Blizzard didn’t know Wuyang is an LGBT icon with a big part of his fans. If they did and still pushed for that sort of reveal then I find it very tone deaf from their part.
Again, I’m not saying they should HAVE revealed him to be gay/bi/straight/whatever, the best thing to do would have been leave it open. I mean they were already doing fine by teasing him with Juno enough to make fans of that couple happy, but mild enough that it could be interpeted as friendship. IDK, I’m just dissapointed in all this…

I use to be really big into pharmercy hoping it would actually become a thing but…lately i gave up on it. I think mercy and genji make more sense

Its too bad cause they’d make a great couple. Its pretty clear that the Devs arent going to make any gay or lesbian OW hero couples. Made this will change in the future, who knows…
