Hi there, is there anyone who uses MSI Afterburner and set your own custom fan curve for you GPU? I am using MSI RTX 2080 Gaming X Trio and i found that MSI Afterburner will crash a few times(Multiple icons at task bar, once mouse over, crashed ones will be gone) only when I am playing Overwatch. MSI Afterburner got no issue with any other games I played, e.g. Modern Warfare.
I tried performing a clean driver installation, swapping to a different displayport, reinstalled MSI Afterburner (Beta and non-beta) but still, the issue persists.
Needs help on this, because my GPU will go up to 66 deg C while in game and I just wanted the card to run as cool as possible based on my custom fan curve.
Thanks in advance!
Happens to me as well, hoping you’d have a response by now. As soon as Overwatch starts, my fan speed drops in MSI Afterburner. Hoping to hear a solution.
The staff doesn’t address enthusiast questions about hardware, they focus on game play issues (crashing, lag, black screens). In my opinion (I’m a volunteer here), a question of this type is likely to get better feedback somewhere like Reddit. That’s where I would ask.
did you fix it? my brother has the same problem
when you put the fan speed to custom it drop back to 25 and the fan curve doesnt work either
I too have this issue.
Even a manual fan speed using the MSI Afterburner v4.6.5 Beta only blips my fan speed up, but then Overwatch 2 brings it back down. Really weird as only Overwatch 2 does this.
My CPU is mostly cooled by my GPU radiator fan curve (SFX), so I need my GPU fans to be >50% above 50°C. Overwatch 2 seems to think my GPU has to go up to 75°C before asking for enough fan. This makes my CPU run >95°C, which is not nice.
I would apprecieate it if Blizzard Developers address this issue by at leat allowing us to toggle Overwatch 2 controlling our hardware profiles like this.
