False report system FALSE BANS ex-OWL player

Blizzard manually overturned the ban within an hour, because like most bans in the game it was undeserved and caused by a broken AI moderation system. This is just the reality of the crooked system of modern overwatch, everyone who uses chat enough will get false banned eventually, if you are a streamer it will be overturned, if you are not then you have to appeal to a customer support chatbot that is hard coded to never grant any appeals

Blizzard overturning the ban is basically them flat out admitting the report system is broken, but there are still people who will ignore the evidence right in front of their eyes

i wish they’d overturn bans for people that aren’t popular CCs and those with big followings.
overturned this guy’s almost immediately because he’s popular, but all the people that had this happen that are just regular players have to just deal with it sticking permanently no matter what they do.

I want them to tell us why he was banned and why they think it was undeserved. Sucks for the rest of us who aren’t rulebreakers

Not most bans.

There has been a slight increase in ban overturns recently, but most still are not.

Let’s not latch onto confirmation bias because it feels good.

A person gets falsely reported because players (not the system itself) were being vindictive, and then promptly unbanned because they appealed and they couldn’t find any evidence.

This sounds like due process, however…

I do agree we should be asking the question: ‘Is this treatment the same for all?’

If they were not ex OWL, would they have been seen to so promptly? Would the outcome have been the same?

If the answer to either of those is ‘no’, then the system has serious faults that need to be addressed.

Let’s not forget that there are many @-****s out there who rightfully deserve getting banned for excessive toxicity, but they always feign innocence after the ban hammer drops. AI isn’t quite there yet for making intelligent ban reversals, but on the flip side, layoffs inflate profits for share holders.

Did you know that 78% of facts are made up?

This is actually a good point. We don’t know what went on between CS and Proper. And we have no way to tell what % of bans get overturned by CS because we’re not given any statistics.

Proper’s ban was for conduct. Now, they may have reviewed the chat logs and thought ‘a ban was a bit much.’ And let him off with a caution or a chat silence instead. We don’t know.

This means anything we discuss here is purely conjecture.

That’s not correct. Actually, 87% of facts are made up according to the facts I just made up.

Well, the fact that I made up that fact raised the fact of made up facts to 94.444%. Repeating, of course. And that’s a fact.

100% of all facts are made up.

My source is 100% correct;

“100% of all facts are made up.”

It was written so shall it be.

My brother said his friend watched a video that proved everything on the internet is true, so this is a lie. Oh, wait…

Legit no Cap

what about this one? ^

Would be nice if they overturned my false mute as well.

Inherently broken report system needs to be reworked.

The people abusing it absolutly love it and wish it was easier to punish people.

Nuh uh nobody lies on the internet

bit ironic to find you saying this after the point you just made a few hours ago :joy:

My suspension was declared overturned by a game master and I am still suspended. Dude said “yeah, you didn’t do anything to warrant a suspension. Let me overturn this.” and then didn’t do that.

Blizzard went far beyond laughable. They have drilled into the depths of sad. Just terribly, terribly sad.
