Fake Reporting by trolls trying to get you suspended

I’m having a tough time trying to enjoy my comp games. I deal with the usual hate towards me, that’s fine no big deal. Tocixity exists. But this is a whole separate Evil that plagues the game I love.

I had a Ana play talking mad $### in game, and even went so far as to message me over Xbox, telling me “to go to bed it’s past my bed time”.

An adult I replied with reciprocated energy, and this kid goes and reports me over Xbox, THEN REPORTS ME THROUGH OVERWATCH

And Now I’m suspended on main on an account I spent roughly $500 on. And I have no chance to appeal.

The suspension is a month long, and I’ll thug that sh## out bro, but why Am I getting punished for this dude instigating??? Blizzard what happened to the guy who STARTED talking ish? I’m banned but this jit started it? I fail to understand any wrong doing when I am simply defending myself against toxic players.

But because he made a report; I’m the one punished. What’s the deal?

reporting in this game is just another form of toxicity lets be real. And I sure as hell use it to my advantage. The key is you don’t respond to them, just report and move on

Truth. I’m not entertaining the trolls anymore I’m reporting them first next time I’m not even going to play that game anymore. Insta-report the trolls

Multiple players have tried to bait me into saying something reportable, but I always get the last laugh by reporting them for the initial bait text and never saying anything back.

The high road is the best route.

Some dude kept accusing me of being a diddy two months ago, reported him but I still defended myself and not once did I swear or replied back with toxicity.
I did report him after he tried to rally people against me and report me and surprise surprise, one day later I got a ban and when I returned I didn’t see any “Thanks for reporting” popup.
Instead I was greeted with another slap on the wrist and got reminded that I am on thin ice.
Great system. Not even muting all comms will help anyone.

General comment: if you are being toxic either on VC or text, i will fake report you for EVERY available option.
Plus actually report you for inappropriate communication.
Sorry, had to take it out… as a Supp main, I hate Doom players who 1v5 and want me (as kiri) to TP them while they are 1v5.

BTW, I don’t think either xBOX or OW suspends your account based off just one complaint. The company probably reviewed the complain. There is also a possibility that the kid wrote about you buying a “kid”. Not fair for you, tbh.

Ah yes, the famous “I said something back this one time and now I am suspended” happening.
Next time you might want to make up some bit more believable story.

My understanding is that these are all automodded due to the sheer volume of legitimate and troll filings being hurled out there. Human eyes don’t see these reports as far as I know.

Blizz don’t care ‘who started it.’ When someone starts stirring it in chat: report and ignore. Don’t join in.

It’s the worst automated report system I’ve genuinely ever seen. 0 oversight, 0 human interference, 0 accountability for false reports, 0 customer service, and 0 fall off for the punishment tier system.

First time my account got silenced, I had 0 toxicity, but figured maybe it was because I cursed in general after reading through trying to figure out why. Okay, nbd, I can not do that, it’s just a silence. Just moved on.

Then came a 2 week ban. Literally out of no where. I got a notification warning about it previously, was confused and made sure to be very careful. I either said nothing or was positive towards people, no toxicity. Still got the 2 week ban a few days later. Contacted CS who said suck it up and refused to give me chat logs.

Now, yet again, a couple months later, am sitting on a one month suspension on that account. Lost my level 5 endorsement. I’m tired of getting reported for literally nothing. Playing sombra (my main). Not “healing well enough.” Having bad games. Asking for help. Or just existing. Though about 80% of my games I say nothing at all.

This is so much worse than it was in ow1, I’m assuming because F2P just ups the ratio insanely of toxic, unhappy people.

I’m done. I’m going to fight fire with fire until I run out of accounts or until something changes in the system, so I’m just reporting anyone for literally anything.

Dps support? Report for gameplay sabotage & toxicity. Tank keeps running in solo? Sabotage & toxcitiy. Passive aggressively spamming voice lines? sabotage & toxicity. GGWP and it wasn’t a GG? toxic. QP, comp, I don’t care. Whatever gets the point across.

I’m done being a punching bag for a toxic community in this game after playing for 8 years, so if I’m going down over nothing then I’m taking people with me until they realize this is an annoying issue and actually do something about it. None of this automated garbage unless you catch people saying slurs/death threats. At least have a human review the others. If false reports are making you reach the threshhold, then they shouldn’t count. It’s not hard to take better care of your playerbase, and I’ve had it trying to figure out why I’m getting punished when I don’t even talk/type in the majority of my games.

But to all the people who report for playing sombra, you’ll never see the end of her just FYI.

I was shocked because we have not had a message about any thrower (literally stops playing the game) in forever. Somebody was mean to me and my Sistah Spice reported them. It was crazy because she was the only one to get the message which implies it was that specific person as, again, I only personally report the people who intentionally throw. That was kind of wild and unexpected.

I have a feeling this community literally cannot tell when people actively stop participating.

I love when people use the “but he started it!” is if they’re still a child in elementary school complaining about the kid who called his macaroni art bad. The guys claims he’s an adult and is “defending himself” against a child in an online video game.
