Booted out of server given 15 minute suspension?

This happened to me as well. When I try to join a Competitive game, I get to the Hero Ban phase, and then after the Bans are picked, the game errors out. I receive a “Failure to connect to server.” message, and then I get sent back to the main menu and was locked out of Competitive matches for 15 minutes. It happened a second time and I was locked out of matches for 1 hour.

Just got ramped up to an 8 hour comp ban for failing to connect to server!

Also unable to connect to server and given a suspension. Can’t connect to quick play either.

Getting similar issues myself.

As it stands, I can’t even go into the Tutorial or Practice Range. I managed to queue into normal QP with a group earlier, but even then that has some weird issues like 235 ms latency and getting stuck in first person during Mauga’s charge. Restarting the client doesn’t seem to fix it

This happened to me and it dropped my ranking as well

tried it one more time and it happened again but now I am banned an hour

I just got suspended for the second time today while trying to join Stadium.

The same thing just happened to me today for the first time.

I discovered a way to circumvent this error, although I don’t know what specifically does it. I could not get in game today until I did this:

  1. Joined a friend’s party
  2. Friend entered the practice range
  3. Friend left the practice range and queued up for a game
  4. Friend re-entered the practice range while we waited
  5. I successfully connect when a game is found
