Failed to connect to server--Nintendo switch

Happened TWICE just now. Kicked me out mid march, then when I tried to queue again kicked me out before I’d found a new game and gave me a half hour ban :frowning:

Hey there, be sure to avoid playing Competitive play when there are persistent disconnection issues. Troubleshooting disconnections on consoles can be extremely difficult, but there are some options to look into.

  1. If you’re using a wireless connection, optimize your internet connection to rule out a connection issue. Note in order to connect a Nintendo Switch to ethernet, you must have a Nintendo Switch Ethernet Adapter.
  2. Check your network configuration to find any issues with your firewall, router, or port settings.
  3. Reset your network devices to make sure your router hasn’t become flooded with data.
  4. Run your console’s built-in connection test on the Nintendo Switch.
  5. Select Show Network Stats from the Options > Video menu to view connection information. Our Diagnosing Overwatch Network Problems article defines each stat with possible troubleshooting steps.
  6. Use your console’s internet browser to run a Looking Glass test. This will help determine if the problem is between your console and our servers.
