Fact: tracer never had above 55% win rate in GM

all the people on here crying about tracer, get your fact straight.
user plague ( Profile - Plague-22924 - Overwatch Forums) has looked up her win rate and their full quote quote is included below.

So your claim that brig, a broken 60% win rate character (in every elo), is needed to counter a character that at the top level at the peak of dive never had over a 55% win rate is rediculous.

Because i know how some people react on these forums, i should clarify that the above post doesn’t say anything on my opinions about any hero in this game.
This was simply a reply to someone asking for the answers, and i tried providing these based on factual data that i could find.

yes i asked if tracers win rate was ever higher than 60% at the peak of dive. thanks for looking up the answer. i just wanted to give you credit for doing the reseach.

Because she was required in GM, both sides needed a tracer, thus one would lose and one would win. Mercy’s win rate for 2.0 looked normal on the surface for this same reason.

Data requires context and interpretation for value. This community is incapable of those things… The facts are pick/win rates mean nothing without context and analysis.

Fact is, she didn’t have a counter and was too powerful at the high ranks.

so powerful she only ever achieved a 55% win rate in GM. wow OP.

Sym and Torb had a 60% winrate before their reworks. I guess they just should have been nerfed instead because they were broken, right?

Look at her pick rate and OWL.

Have you ever played in GM? I feel like that’s a statement that somebody who hasn’t would say.

I’ve played there and she was never considered necessary. You wouldn’t have one on your team most games, and I’ve literally never been asked to play Tracer.

The pro scene is a different story, but GM just nah.

Mercy 2.0 you were called a troll trying to play a non-mercy healer.

no because their super low pickrate and are mostly used in cheese situations to secure an easy win.

lol… one dev i watched on a blizccon stream literally said tracer was the reason why brigitte was introduced… the devs do have better stats than your overbuff page.

Something some people don’t take into account should also be mentioned.
OWL, World Cup and some other Tournaments are played on LAN.
What this means is that everyone has 0 ping. Which in turn means that you can look at the enemy’s face, and you’ll see exactly where they’re aiming at at that moment.
Tracer’s kit benefits a lot from being able to react to these kinds of things. Where as most Tracer’s you’d see in your own games have to predict stuns/shots instead.
Out of all the heroes, she probably benefits the most from this.

Again, this is not about my own opinion on the hero. It’s just a small addition explaining why she’s stronger/too strong in the pro scene

Having been GM for 10+ seasons… yes. She was necessary. The were 2 in every single game forever until all the indirect nerfs. She seriously was the game in GM. Tracer was requested non-stop.
In my experience.

there’s a lot more than this that counters tracer lol

Brig’s pick rate is only a few % above theirs. It’s no where near the difference between her pick rate and the truly must-pick OP heroes. All of her statistics are much, much closer to the niche heroes than the historically OP heroes, which had 10%+ pick rate and very close to 50% winrate.

What region was that in?

Also, how come you’re only level 200 if you’ve played 10 seasons.

eh? where are you looking? brig has a top 10 or near enough across elos

Overbuff. Her pickrate is 3.8%.

yeah mostly puts her in top 10. sym and tob are like barely 1% and at the bottom.
