…is what Blizzard said when they released Overwatch 2.
You bought Overwatch 1 and have been playing the game to unlock the skins/emotes/cosmetics you wanted. Sure, trying to get a specific item was RNG, but at least knowing you could casually play the game with a chance at unlocking it was nice.
Well if you didn’t have time, or just couldn’t unlock them before, now you have to pay upwards of £/$20+ just to unlock a skin/mini-bundle. Just a single skin in some cases??? Seems like out of nowhere, they’ve just stuck some ridiculous price tag on every - what were previously - play to earn cosmetic item.
It’s not as though you still have the choice to play OW 1 - the game you purchased - and get those items, because of course, the entire game was replaced by this predatory version of it. Going into OW2, OW1 players can keep what they had and get access to the 3 new heroes. But everything you could once earn, now costs money. lol thanks, I guess.
I’m not saying cosmetics going forwards should be free, because that’s part of Overwatch 2. A different game, in a sense. But Overwatch 1? Maybe it’s just a personal opinion, but this just feels like a huge slap in the face. I feel cheated, almost.
