Drugs are bad m’kay.
I mean okay, but what about it? Nothing is gonna happen.
Why would you attempt to soloheal with Mercy anyway right now? Just like with other supports, she doesn’t always work with the team comp. I would suggest not one tricking any hero at all. And as much as I love playing Mercy (along other supports) I really wouldn’t call her healing method “stressing”…
Baps is my boi, but i recently got put on Mercy in mystery heroes and after trying her again, i have to say that i had a lot more fun than i was expecting.
“What!? I’m flying!? How can this be!!?”
she speaks!
she scores!
ok, no offense, but do you need to pop in every single mercy thread to repeat that thing?
Like, i’m tired of mass rez enthusiast as much as the next guy, but calm down.
i think at this point it’s just an echo chamber gone out of control.
The nostalgia for mass rez spiraled so much out of control that people are hyping it up far beyond what it really was.
According to revert mercies mass rez will solve each and every single problem in the game.
I am quote calm, and I stand by what I said
I believe we are on the same side of this issue
This right here. I did a Mass Res workshop and realized just how boring Mercy used to be. Yeah, it was fun headshotting a Roadhog 6 times consecutively, getting Mass Res and getting a 4-man res to keep the team fight pushing to get my very first ever GM title (back in S4), but I’ve come to realize that with Valkyrie, I have so much more freedom. I can help in multiple fights at once. I can heal both my back line and front line when both are under attack, which Mercy 1.0 could never do.
If one of my teammates gets picked off before a fight, specifically my main tank, I don’t have to go, “Oh, I don’t have my ult. This fight is probably lost now. Time to back up.” I can throw away my res to keep the fight even now. I don’t have to worry about holding it all game, anticipating a grav.
I can pop Valk and go kill Widow who just popped sights, forcing her to lose her ult. If my Ana trusts in me, she may even nano me in Valk, which I can most likely secure 1-3 kills depending on the enemy’s team comp.
I see my back line is low and I’m in Valk? My second support got that Genji to half? I can fly back and choose to either help them kill him (possibly letting them die, but I can res it) or try to heal them through the attack.
Mercy 1.0 was very static and was much less mobile than she is now. She has more options outside of “do I hold res or not?” There were a lot of mind games with Mercy 1.0, but with super jump and Valk, there are new mind games to play.
I find a lot of accomplishment super jump over an enemy Rein to bait his earthshatter (which most fall for because tanks are SO THIRSTY for Mercy) or popping Valk immediately as Sombra EMP’s and I not only save my Zen, but help save my entire team through EMP enough until Zen can pop Trans if needed.
A few avenues closed with her rework, but many more opened. If you’re stuck playing a stagnant, passive Mercy, that’s your fault for not adapting, becoming more aggressive, and learning how to get the most out of her new tech.
Moira would be furious with you for using the term “science” on something that has nothing to do with any solid science.
And you lost your argument alredy
fun is subjective. Thats why for some she is fun, for some she is not rn. Mass rezz or not mass rez, you cant make something fun for everyone ![]()
I feel a lot of old Mercy mains are stuck on Mercy 1.0 because they’re unwilling to accept change. Mercy players have had to adapt A LOT over the course of the rework, I won’t deny that, but many players are still stuck in the “I have to play as far away as possible and do nothing but hold LMB, since I have Mass R— wait… I have Valkyrie now. But I’ll continue to play as if I’m Mass Res Mercy,” which just doesn’t work anymore.
The players who don’t find enjoyment out of Mercy anymore are the same players who still play her as if she is Mass Res Mercy, and OF COURSE that is going to be boring. Mercy 1.0’s only glory moment WAS Mass Res, but now she has super jump, more mind games, the ability to participate in killing, and much stronger damage boost. Mercy isn’t a passive hero anymore. Get up in the enemy’s face and bait abilities with super jump. GA is only a 1.5s CD. UTILIZE IT. If you get in trouble, pop Valk and get out.
If that is what you do then you’re playing her wrong.
As I always say, there are many opportunities for Mercy to pull out her pistol each game, it’s just up to the player to determine when and where.
Each of my games recently, I get between 1,000-3,000 damage done as Mercy unless my DPS are absolutely dominating and I don’t feel the need to help secure a kill or apply pressure.
Valkyrie just makes this even easier to do. I even make jokes in-game saying, “Mercy - the Widow counter,” if my team can’t deal with her, so I do.
super jump is a bit tricky, I cant get it sometimes, If devs are fine with that feature I would like it to be easier to pull off
^This. A thousand times, this.^
Also about 1500-3000 damage amplified per match thanks to chain beams. Damage boost is the most useful utility Mercy has and yet people hate chain beams, which make damage boost seem completely broken.
Change your key bindings. I’m on PC and have crouch bound on Mouse-3 (side button) on my mouse and I can super jump nearly every time successfully, unless the target is too close.
Since Mercy’s damage boost change, I don’t often get below 1,000 damage amped per game, unless the enemy is running extremely heavy DPS and I don’t have much time to boost. But that is when I can take matters into my own hands and try to kill something in Valk to alleviate the damage. Or I can just fly around the enemy and pull the aggro away from my tanks (my near GM alt account averages 3.66 deaths, it’s possible to do this without suiciding).
I have set it that way man, it was impossible for me before, the thing is the timing, I need to get close my mate and then that little window to jump, I would like to reach the sky anytime, regardless of distance and that
That just takes practice. It took me around 100-200 additional hours on Mercy to perfect the super jump each time I use it. And even now, I’ll occasionally mess it up at pertinent moments.
Super jump wasn’t meant to be a feature. It is a bug and Blizzard has acknowledged it, they just aren’t removing it. (Although, they did plan to when Mercy was meta. When she died down, they decided to leave it)
