It was on Gibralter, we went into extra rounds, and the progression bar then showed it deducting points and the bar showed RED for a loss when we won 5-4
GLITCH?
ERROR?

Did you take a screenshot?
Yes i did
How can i attatch it for everyone to view?
You’ll have to upload it to the internet. You can use Imgur for this. Then you have to share the link and put a space in between the https:// and the link part to post it here.
I’ve seen that before; It’s a visual glitch. You should have still gained comp points. Check how many you have through the hero gallery to make sure tho.

That’s so weird. Hopefully its just a visual bug. Losing sr on a win should not happen.
I think the progression modifiers (Expected, Uphill Battle, Consolation, etc.) are applied after the initial increase or decrease from a victory or defeat.
So in this instance it could be something like you gained 3% for winning (if the game thinks you’re around the correct rank, the amount of progress gained/lost is minimised) and then lost 5% because of the expected modifier.
This would also mean that the reverse can happen on a defeat if you have a positive modifier.
I appreciate the reply, but why would anyone who is trying to maximize their season SR high even contemplate playing another competitive match in the case that a win may ultimately produce a loss in SR?
For instance, come end of the season, where every potential game may be your final one, why would anyone even risk entering a competitive match if a win could possibly result in a loss of SR? You see my point?
There’s absolutely no logic behind losing any SR for a win. Even if it was expected, large gap in SR, what-have-you, a win should produce an increase in SR, no matter how little it may be.
