Several times of going 5 wins and average of 2-3 losses (7-8 total games) but staying in the same rank. Hows ranked ACTUALLY work?

It tiers brackets, and the amount of points you get for winning depends on your teams average rank vs there teams average rank…
In OW1 i never like comp cause winning games i would get 7-12 SR but losing game i seem to lose like 30 sr. so i would need to win 3 games to make up that 1 loss and now just do qp which are shorter games and more entertaining

It’s broken. You just get lucky and it blesses you by bringing you from silver to t500 with a 20% win rate.
