I assume someone on the OW team had a stroke because that is the only way to explain the Genji buff. Three buffs without any semblance of a nerf to balance him?
With the buffs, give deflect a longer cool down now that it can be cancelled. Slow down the projectile speed for his secondary since the spread was significantly reduced, and increase the cost of his ult since he is going to be a position to do a lot more damage.
I know Genji hasn’t been viable for a while, and I know it is just being tested, but this seems extreme.
All these changes do is make genji a viable option, im pretty sure youre gonna find that unless the person is a genji onetrick this champ still underperforms most heroes damage heros for the average player. Think about all the genji mains that nano blade (50% damage increase, the ability to 1shot with dash/slash) and that still cant close out a kill/multiple kills b/c zarya bubbles or brig stuns or mcree stuns or ana sleeps or sigma rock or hook or literally any of the 70 different options of controlling a charecter.
Up until now I get mad when someone is playing genji b/c it means my team is not gonna have any damage and im gonna have to set up targets to be low so the genji can actually kill them (I play at 3.4k sr for reference). I used to be a gengo main until they started introducing all these charecters that can cuck genji while having not even 1/10th the skill requirement
at 2500 sr you dont have to worry about genji nanoblades having any value (or even them coordinating something like that isnt normal at silver/gold) since if you’re a true 2500 sr genji main youre either a) not gonna have the game knowledge b) not gonna have the mechanics or c) the team coordination
and if a smurf is in the game and genji with a slight buff is not gonna break the game, what do you think he cant still play tracer or echo too be too difficult to kill? how does the problem of a person being in a game where he is obviously higher rated get increased with a genji buff?
That’s not true… There’s plenty of ult combination performance thought out the platinum rank…
A plat Genji can definitely pull off a nano blade 2+ kill… I’m a terrible Genji and I can usually muster up at least a double kill. Anything larger than that, yeah probably not…
Honestly I’m more concerned with the very bad gold and plat Genji players that are going to keep playing Genji into Winston/Moira and getting limited value.
Yeah that’s simply wrong. You can see nano blade even in bronze. It doesn’t require much of a skill.
Back to topic, buffing storm arrow? Please tell me this is a joke. Give me the arrow speed back and I don’t even need the storm arrow, you can remove it and don’t give anything in it’s place.
Plat players can’t put two ults together? What a ignorant thing to say (and I’m not saying you are ignorant). Nano-blades happen, and it’s common. Unless you play hours of comp in plat, why would you attempt to tell me something about my rank as if you know better?
I played him back when his arrows were this slow but I refuse to invest that much time again to get my muscle memory right. I’ll just stick to hitscans no big deal but I sometimes miss playing Hanzo.
yes, plat players are bad, if they could do what you said (and actually get kills instead of JUST using the ults together) they wouldnt be plat. Ive played in plat plenty to understand just how really bad they are. Most of them think theyre good b/c they’ve picked up some of the game mechanics, which gives them a false sense of security in their gameplay, but the MAJORITY of plat players are simply bad
also your rank is 2.5k across all three roles, your barely a plat player wym plat is ur elo?
What are you talking about, dude? The plat Genji isn’t going against well positioned, highly mechanically skilled opponents.
The plat Genji is jumping into a pile of plat players who can’t hit stuns, sleeps, or any type of CC consistently. It’s hack and slash at its finest, and it wouldn’t work in a high elo game, but it works here.
I can call out offensive DPS ults before they happen, but that doesn’t mean I am positioned well enough or mechanical skilled enough to survive them.
Ults are telegraphed in plat—Genji, Reaper, Rein, McCree, Sombra, D’va—it’s no secret when they are coming. All plat players are similarly skilled, though, so it doesn’t have to be flawless.
