I really hope Echo becomes available on the Experimental Card tomorrow for console players, such as myself. It really sucks waiting 2 weeks - a whole month to play and test out a brand new hero.

Everyone doubts it, but I hope so…my hype for new heroes is always killed off because we have to wait 500 years to even get to use them.

But maybe the duration will be shorter than two weeks now that ExC is a thing? That’s certainly a possibility.
Experimental is only meant for balance. PTR is where they release any new heroes and maps.

Unfortunately I wish so too, but it’s going to be on PTR.
Experimental is only for changing already existing variables in game for gameplay/balance changes. Such as changing Soldier’s rocket cooldown or buffing Orisa’s damage. Major changes such as allowing Mei’s ice wall to allow large hitboxes to go through one pillar require PTR testing due to potential bugs. A new hero definitely has the possibility for a lot of bugs so they would need the PTR for that.

I mean the recent nerf to Mei’s Ice Wall was up on the PTR for like 2 days before eventually also transferring onto the ExC, so here’s to hoping that the same will happen w/ Echo.

I believe they will take her to the XP Card. As Jeff said, if you want real feedback it has to occur on the Live servers, the most they ever had on PTR was about 66K players… not enough. People are just saying PTR like drones because that is how they did it in the past.
You say this like it’s just that simple for some people.
They just need to release her already.
Last hero was Sigma back in August last year, seven months ago.
If they still need to test her after a seven month gap between heroes, there’s something wrong.
Or because the devs have actually confirmed themselves that potentially game-breaking additions like new maps and heroes have to first go through the PTR? Pretty sure Kaplan explained that himself.
They did. And Jeff K. also acknowledged a change in direction for real testing ala the introduction of the XP Card hence why it exists, to get faster and more reliable testing than the oft-ignored PTR gives by attracting far more players and allowing for cross-platform. Let’s bear that in mind as well.

Im think after echo gets her cosmetics and bugs she will be put onto the experimental, but who knows.
