Edit 3: This is kinda an older topic. I think everything has died down quite a bit.
I understand that the forums have been on fire recently.
Trolls, alt accounts of the trolls… 1000 year bans…
Buuuut. We need to slow things down.
A LOT. I have been guilty of participating in these threads, however, I would like to have a place to just… Not talk about that stuff. Friendly questions, conversation… Anything. But please not what has been going on. If you have workshop questions or requests, then perhaps I may listen. (Just a reminder that I don’t have time 24/7 so please don’t spam requests)
Edit (Small text so that it doesn’t take up space):
I'm not trying to feed... Read comment 1. Warning me about the situation isn't helping. I am fully aware, I am just trying to create a place where the drama is unaffected... Your comment isn't helping.
Edit: If you all need something to experiment with and are bored, here:
(I may re-play some of of my modes too. Haven’t been there in some time.)
As much as I agree with you, unfortunately the comments that are likely to follow in this thread are going to be counter-productive to what you’ve intended to do here.
idk bold of you to assume that there’s more staff than a skeleton crew at all times considering how gleefully Blizzard has been passing out the pink slips this last year or two. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a cumulative 50 employees left at Blizzard at this point. Considering how ‘fast’ we get ‘content’ that seems about right
Well, a lot of the pinkslips were mostly QA Testing and customer service.
So yeah, totally could affect the forum situation.
As for content, I kinda blame the now exited CFOs who cut a lot of funding a year or two ago. BlizConn 2018 with no releases on any game was kind of a joke.
What do you meeeean having a whole games convention with virtually nothing to show our gamers is a joke? That’s just Blizzard at it’s best! lol
Seriously though looking at the numbers Blizzard has lost well over 36% of it’s staff, and even though people want to dismiss it as ‘mostly QA and testing and customer service’ the place they shut down in France was actually part of the programming and art department - I know this because Activision specifically tried to poach the talent out of that department for their games, and I don’t think they’d do that for customer service people. Yong Yeah or Bellular did a report on how they wanted to get the talent out of there but they couldn’t get them to leave Blizzard, so they found a way to shut down that whole node of the company in France (which also makes sense because France has very strong worker protection laws, you can’t just fire people because you want to, workers have actual rights and are entitled to securities) and then hire them after the fact.
I mean I suppose it could be speculation but those guys are usually really accurate and on the nose when it comes to games journalism stuff, they take it pretty seriously so I tend to believe what they have to say about it (and I’m sure I butchered it a bit, this is all filtered through my memory which is… bad.)
I’m basically just mad at Blizzard for making record breaking profits and not spending a damn dime of it on reinvesting in the game.

Just use tags that make regular text small. There are quirks to this, however, and I’m free to help you with the information.

<Small> Woohhhhhh I had no idea. But it comes out like that... [/quote]
Tags above text do weird things. They heavily reduce text spacing, and they make some other things stop working, like quotes or text formatting in the form of symbols. But 2 spaces remove all effects from the html, including the weirdness.
