"Every player equally equipped"

I’m going to end the thread here. Hardware is out of Blizzard’s control, and making it so that the game runs better for the people that own it is a good thing. End of the line.

They are not third-party applications. They are the platform that the game runs in. Just because someone is slower due to a worse leg on football doesn’t mean the players aren’t equally equiped.

Not true - they can limit the advantages of better hardware. FPS lock, etc.

The reason your analogy doesn’t work is we’re not talking about body parts. We’re talking about things external to a person. Your legs come with you. Your hands come with you. If you have better dexterity than another person and that lets you fire quicker or aim better, that’s all your own talent.

The reason your counter-argument doesn’t work is because you didn’t get the point. Different effectiveness in parts of the body or computer are very comparable. The parts come with your computer.

And why would they do that? Limiting people’s options when they have a nice computer? And also, people could also not match the “FPS Lock”. They wouldn’t be equally equipped, either. How would you fix that?

They’re not comparable. They’re talent vs. tools. Your computer is external to you. It’s like if you took a calculator into a non-calculator exam. You’d have an obvious advantage over people doing the calculations in their heads.

I never said they would. I said they could. It’s in their power to. And yes, some people wouldn’t meet the FPS lock. Which is why it’s silly to make their initial statement.

And that’s exactly like some dude being born with super great skills and aerodynamics to be a great runner compares to just a great runner with super great skills. He was born with and has an advantage that can’t be emulated by someone who don’t have that.

They could. But why would they? I used “would” and why eventually they could do that? Just because some people have worse PC’s, and can’t meet the standards?

Then that person with his birth-given advantage, is simply a better runner than the one without aerodynamics.

They would if they genuinely believed in their own statements (see first post). They obviously don’t which is why the statements are disingenuous.

Then that computer with it’s built-given advantage, is simply a better computer than the other one without great parts.

Correct. The computer is better. Not the player. Which is the whole point. We’re testing players’ skills, not computers’ skills.

Ya guys gotta stop arguing with that gold troll. I’m sure he’d be GM if it wasn’t for unfair adventage people with normal setup have over him.
But still stop wasting time. I can’t flag more of his post as trolling too.

Look at the bright side. That’s a pretty sweet G430.

I guess i’ll stop arguing with that context. In fact, the better tool is better than the worse tool, and that’s final. Two players with different tools are differently equipped.

I’m just going to say that there is no way to change this, and it’s out of Blizzard’s control. What they meant was that people shouldn’t have unfair advantages over one another, and it isn’t unfair when it abides by the rule of the game; i.e. having a different computer for better performance.

No, it’s not out of their control.

I see. Blizzard sets rules that contradict their own statements. Agreed.

In practice, yes it is. Locking FPS is a quick way of making most of the PC Gamer community mad at your game and dropping it. It is business suicide.

Their statements mean something else. You’re thinking of it in a wrong way.

Just flag him and move on. He’s trolling, either that or actually arguing how “unfair” blizzard is and wants his cheat back.

Just flag him.

He’s making his point, he’s arguing for it. I don’t see trolling anywhere, but i’m kind of dense.

I don’t see anyone trolling. Disagreeing with someone else or carrying an opinion that you don’t share doesn’t mean that person is trolling.

I don’t know you are trolling or making fun of us or not not but ill try to make it clear.

Game sense or ability to read the game comes with experience and practice. Our brain is kind a like an A.I too. But better ( at least for now). Anyway. This is what separate a high skill player from a low skill player. Genarally a GM player will have a high game awareness and will be able predict the ulti timings and general stats. For a bronze player to get to that point he will have to work really hard. But these 3rd part apps gives this ability freely. Since not everyone has an access to it it gives an unfair advantage for users.

This is no where near like having good equipment. Equipment different is only effecting like 1%. And only people who are in high tier have to worry about it. And there are lot of GM players who get there with crappy laptops and potato pcs. How? game sense. It affects more than 90%.

And besides everyone who play multiplayer games. Generally have a good idea about equipment differences. And willing to go along with it. But information given by these 3rd parties are a whole another dimension. And with advances in a.i and data analyses it only gets better.

Blizzard cannot let their player base be dependent on a 3rd party software to play the game. So hope this helps you out. Good bye.

Where did you get the 1% number from?
The people who get to GM with crappy laptops and potato PCs are a minority. Or they play heroes that are less mechanically reliant like tanks.
