Every issue with Echo

  1. She was added to comp without any time for people to play her on Live
  2. She compleatly replaces pharah. There is literally no reason to pick Pharah over Echo
  3. She’s really overpowered.
  4. She’s yet ANOTHER DPS hero that Tanks cannot deal with. Along with her being out of their range, she also BREAKS SHIELDS.
Bonus: She’s another DPS hero.

I think she’s pretty neato

This is true, but it’s not just Pharah. She pretty much invalidates the whole DPS roster except McCree.

Kinda fixed that for you

I agree with her being added into comp they should give at least a week or two then add her

5- Her face is creepy. Faceless Echo is way better.(there’s the character design sheet circulating, and literally all the other designs were better, even the faced ones)
6- She is a Mercy jail character, like Pharah.
7- Devs broke their “6 tanks/supports” promise they did when Ashe launched.
8- Echo has a Echo specific tournament. She has an Twitch specific event. When Sigma/Bap launched they had neither. Shows how much they care for supports/tanks.

I think the funniest part is the devs admitting she’s overtuned. And then releasing her straight into comp anyways.

honestly I doubt this has anything to do with the class of the hero

I mean, aren’t the hero bans also forcing hard mains & one-tricks to expand their playtime onto heroes they’re unfamiliar with? Just a more volatile environment in general?

Aside from playing devil’s advocate, I 100% agree with everything you mentioned.

just won my first time echo game in a comp game AMA

I honestly think it has, but not in a dps bad/support or tank good. It’s just that they have more fun creating the dps. So they end up hyping/ working harder on those.

It is as simple as that.

I dunno, after a couple games with and against her she doesn’t really have a huge impact on games.

Just looked it up. Boy do those designs look better! Like I don’t mind echo how she is now… but I would prefer a faceless or less humane face as well…

I agree with 1 and 2

3 I do not so much. She’s really squishy. If flying is on cooldown then she can’t get away. Hitscan should be able to melt her. We all know how powerful hitscan is afterall.

4 I agree with mostly. I don’t think we needed a new hero that melts tanks and Echo is amazing at that. She can do up to 500 damage in 3 seconds.

the only threat she poses to tanks is if her 5 second cooldown flight manages to get a flank on you. that is solely to blame on your dps.

her primary can not pose a threat to your shield, as opposed to pharah spam.

a echo breaking your barrier with beam is throwing, as odds are you will have dps much better suited to broken shield brawls. and your backline will have it relatively easy.

watch any stream of somebody using her sticky, the only 1 who doesnt whiff it consistently is sinatraa. it poses no more threat to a tank, then a junkrat who cant aim.

Think it’s just more to do with Echo being important to the plot, they did say at the point in time when we saw her in McCree’s cinematic they still had no idea if she was going to be Tank, DPS or Support and were trying out all 3

Baptiste did get a bit of love with his mini-event, which had Twitch sprays tied into it, but that came later after his release

(and tbh that was intended to hype up the next tank’s release at the same time, even tho we ended up getting a different tank)

She needs what pharah has. Movement inertia. Not just be 10x what pharah is with more mobility flight more and get to use omni directional flight in the same capacity at almost the same movespeed, omni directional flight on a low basic cooldown shouldn’t be as good as it’s ultimate counterpart.

Apart from general numbers being too high for how stacked she is as a hero - her ultimate is the big contributor to something OP and broken - being able to fly above 6 people over a wall, ulting their rein, and suddenly landing in the middle, swing twice, and you get shatter, you wiped their team by aerially dropping a slow moving tank RIGHT ON TARGET with full shield full health and all cooldowns, and the best part, the persons intangible while they switch to the ulted hero, at the smallest part, this can be used to 100% assure a duel win every time, which believe me, frustrating mechanic. She gets to decide with no outplay outskill or anything that you die when she has her ultimate. Blizz knows better than to make ultimates that function that way, make everything have counterplay, there is no counterplay to echos ultimate, it’s just broken interaction CHEESE.

Yeah - but at this point mentioning that feels redundant because we’re already too deep :l

Everything wrong with ther is that she’s a poorly thought out character absurdly loaded with options and topped with a ridiculous ult that should never have gone past the conceptual stage - actually, a lot of her should never have gone past that stage.

Now we get to wait 2, 3, maybe 4 years for her to be tuned to a balanced state, all while the characters still busted or weak fester for longer as the work piles up.

YES. There is no reason to have her in comp right now. Too many people are “trying her out” in comp and the first team to swap wins. It’s so bad, they adopted her DURING A REIN BAN. So freaking dumb. Blizzard please change this. Please ban her until next season so people can get good at her first.

I find pharah is harder to kill than echo because she can stay in the air… I don’t think she replaces her. During a qp play (against a team of echo and pharah(yes I know the echo was prob a new echo player) pharah was still the problem to kill and more powerful
