I only get replies to my topics if they can be considered “controversial”. (Basically me complaining)
I’ve made a few character idea posts in the past that got nothing or a max of 1 reply.
Many times. Either no replies or barely any. Here’s my exhibits: (most of my posts aren’t “balance this, balance that, controversy” etc but “hero idea, lore speculation” etc and barely anyone cares for some reason)
Then you see posts like is this hero overpowered, is this role too easy and unbalanced , matchmaking trash, I’m leaving the game, bring back this exclusive limited time skin and they easily reach 40-50+ replies every time. Which is why I post on Reddit a lot more now. Most posts I make here now are links to the original Reddit post I made
to see if they get any additional replies.
I don’t really like to make topics for this reason. I feel like anything I’d actually like to talk about (see: a majority of things you can actually have a friendly little chat over) just go under the hood over topics that are, quite literally, the clickbait of the forums (“Bring Back Pink Mercy!”, “Samito said THIS?!”, “Rigged! Bad MM! Fake Games! Muh Patents!”, “I Quit!”, etc. etc. and so forth…)
So, I don’t really have any examples since most of my topics are news updates if I notice no one else is posting (most popular one being OWL bargaining against Blizz), a question which only needs a few replies, or a little joke.
I always try to make sure to respond to fun posts when/if I see them, though.
You get replied to if you troll, because most of the people who play Overwatch are interested in fighting each other wherever they may find them, as if their lives depended on it.
