Even Halo MCC has better matchmaking than OW

And that game basically has no matchmaking. It matches you completely randomly with other completely random players, and it actually feels 10 times better than the DDA in OW. It’s just that bad and I sincerely hope we’ll have the software engineering team re-tweak the entire system for OW2

They know how to code a match maker, they loosened it to get games going.

I wouldn’t work for Activision. They dump interns every quarter.

No it doesn’t lol. There are no new players in Halo MCC because the matchmaking is even worse than it is in QP. You’re going to get matched with sweats who spend 12+ hours playing the game trying their hardest in unranked games in a full party in Halo when you’re starting out. In OW at least the levels somewhat skew towards yours if you’re new.

Until you get matched into a game with players that have thousands of levels and no idea how to function as a teammate.

Halo MMC is actually fun tho even if the MMR is not the best. 9/10 games I play with my friends we had fun the match even if we lost

Usually I win as much as I lose too

In QP? Maybe they’re under the influence or maybe not caring at all( I do see and hear a lot of “lol i’m so high right now” in QP).

In comp? I see more people complain about teammates “who can’t function as teammates” or “who are useless” than actual bad teammates, so I don’t really trust too many complaints on the forums about this :woman_shrugging:t2:

The lawsuits are regarding WoW not OW

Lmao, that made my day. Thank you.

Yup. Overwatch match making is garbage because it has selective matchmaking. A stupid AI that thinks it can make matches more balanced by putting an equal amount of good and bad players on each team. The only thing this does is make the game more toxic and frustrating, and ensures some bad players win every match and some good players lose every match. Random matchmaking within a small sr range is far better.

Coding isn’t even the problem, writing code is easy.

The issue here is the system design.

The goals of the current system compared to player expectations and experience.

The issue is players don’t want bad match ups like 3 rank matches.

While players want a matchmaker that doesn’t give bad match ups, the matchmaker design is more focused on 50-50.

Ow director first left, then recently the producer too, knowing Blizzard they have swept stuff.

I’m aware and it’s been pain since Q4 of 2019 because of this. Matchmaking before any tweaks was very good in the game for sure, but this is about the current state of matchmaking and how in it’s current state it’s 10 times worse than not having one at all and just picking random teams as soon as they hit the queue

On the contrary the game has a constant flux of new players going in and out unlike in OW because of how easy the game is to approach compared to something like OW. Even beyond that the matchmaking experience is way better after the first initial games for newer players and the chances are really high that alt accounts/smurfs just ruin your gameplay experience completely in OW right after you get ejected from the “starter lobbies”

When it comes to MCC sweats, that’s a massive false. You do definitely sometimes get these matches, but they’re veeery rare. Most of the time you’ll just play against some random spergs that aren’t the best but aren’t the worst and you’ll win about as many games as you lose. Just like

Confirms it too. Also this

happens a lot more than you think.

Exactly. Mixing and matching players from anywhere within a 1500SR range breaks the game completely. Not only that, but it often makes winning feel just as bad as losing because it twists the gameplay experience to be very horrible. The games become extremely chaotic RNG fiestas that feel like you’re just playing TDM, which is not a suitable format for OW

In short: This. So much this. It’s simply because the OW DDA system doesn’t protect you from complete sperg players by giving you players appropriate for your MMR which means that when it gives you appropriate opponents from your MMR range, it has a very high chance of still giving these spergs in your team. Which in it’s entirety is the exact opposite of what the matchmaking is supposed to do because it extremely polarizes most of the matches

At least with completely random and non-existent matchmaking every other player are consistently similar spergs

It most certainly is not better. 9 times out of 10 as someone in the EU, I get put in NA servers in MCC and it ruins the quality of matches. Then if I get an EU servers there are so many NA players is still barely playable. The matchmaking in that game is beyond a joke and makes this games look like Blizzard know what they are doing.

There’s an option to lock out regions built into the game  have you tried that?

No I didn’t even know it’s a feature. Where would it be found?
