EU Server Question Comp Question

So I had the Middle East block by the firewall when Middle East was joint into EU servers, so when crossplay came I was Thrown In Asia server but now I unblocked it so will i be playing in EU, and will my comp games count as EU games?

Regions no longer apply in terms of matchmaking, but in terms of ranking in the leaderboards or going for Top 500, I am trying to confirm if PC is now just one global region and consoles now share one general leaderboard.

I have no confirmation either way on this.

What I mean is that there is no way to specify region in matchmaking, PC is now simply a global region connecting players to a datacenter that provides the fastest possible ping (which you know all too well). I understand your specific reasons for wanting a specific region or server to connect to, and I have passed on my personal thoughts on the matter where I could.

Well just to clarify, the general “why players want to connect to a specific region” is where I expressed feedback, I would also note my voice in this matter is more of an echo to what Blizzard has already heard. Now if we see changes or not will remain to be seen, and personally, I fear any changes may take time to implement, but that is pure speculation on my part.

I agree, it’s either this, or it’s never going to happen at all. I think the more people who find a “workaround” e.g VPN or using that Firewall trick the less people will be vocal about it and then they will think it’s not a problem anymore. (which is a big worry of mine because the big thread about it has already started to die down after about a week as more and more people are told to us the firewall/vpn methods :frowning: )

Every voice is important when it comes to a huge change that effects many people.

The global server update is not a good decision. Surely the thought of people doing work arounds and complaining so much about it must make some heads turn and think "bad idea? Yeah bad. "

thank for replying I would say… it will take time 3 to 4 months, not just that…I feel certain countries don’t allow VPN and why should we work around it… Blizzard should… Give Us Set Servers Let Us Connect where we wanna play… Like… If I wanna go to the Middle East I would change it I mean I m sure it’s just one Software update… for them to imply changes, But I Only Ask where I stand In Comp Regarding T500 of Placements where m I counted… I think EUR cause b4 it went Global Middle East emerged with EUR.

Thank you for always replying and Taking time on reading

Most people have stated they absolutely hate this. I have seen many Europeans complain about this because they cant play on NA anymore. EU server is a mess, everyone’s toxic for no reason, has to play with Mehrain servers (well they have over 100 ping compared to us having 30-70).

Like is this region free thingy a bug or an actual feature? People. Hate. It. I don’t care since im on console and console has always been region locked and not letting you change servers for no reason whatsoever, and no it’s not up to Sony or xbox.

If you are asking that Free Region is a thing as in Selecting a Region yes on PC you can pick what region you wanna play in as in I pick EUR I only play in EUR if I pick NA u are in NA so ya it is real I bin playing freely on EUR for 3 years… and it was fine it’s amazing then they Put in the Middle East in EUR I was fine I Blocked Middle From Firewall and I was like yeh EUR playing with people who speak same but now it is like I cant… i can’t play in EUR at all its only Middle East if I block that with firewall then Its Asia Automatic doesn’t care if we have selected EUR or not
