While I can’t speak for most of the world, I know in the US tobacco use in movies, games, and TV is usually a factor in bumping up an age rating. In fact, its usually up there with blood and violence.
Since McCree is the only one that smokes (his cigar or pipes for some skins), he is the sole hero which contributes to the “tobacco use” label for the game. Is this kinda wasted, or would it be appropriate to give other heros a smoking emote, or introduce new heros with tobacco use? I could see Widow smoking mostly because she’s French, or Mei as statistically Chinese persons smoke at higher rates than others in the world.
Also, I wouldn’t say e-cigs or vaping would be a reasonable substitute, but it might fit considering theres a liquor ad (okay its for oil) on point A of Numbani. Its already in the game, might as well light up
