Error Disconnected Penalty? - Got Penalties for Playing Ov2

This has been an apparent issue before, but I’m only bringing this back up is because I got penalties for getting a bug. Basically I was playing with a friend of mine in a Quick Play match when I got disconnected, didn’t think of it much and just carried on with my day. But it kept happening so much so that the game thought I was rage-quitting and gave me a -75xp percent per match for 9 matches. It also temp banned me from using match chat and team chat, and team vc. It even disconnects me when I’m not in a game, and just in the main menu. If it helps, I’m on xbox, so idk if that contributes to anything or not. I don’t know why it happened, but god please just remove the penalties.

I have had so many DC issues this season while playing comp. IDK if there was a bug introduced when the MMR system was changed, but losing a game because of it should not count against you. Two DCs happened in the SAME GAME to me and my teammates. It’s getting ridiculous.

The same just happened to me just a minute ago, so I called it quits for the night. It’s the second time this ever happened to me, the first time was yesterday. Super annoying especially as I never quit anything, yet this error happened in overtime while behind in the first round, so of course the first assumption would be that I’m a lame quitter.

I don’t know if this is going hand in hand with the super-high ping connections lots of us have been getting since the start of Season Four, but they need to fix this since it’s highly annoying.

Omg, thank heavens I’m not the only one. It’s really not fair since it’s blizzard’s fault yet people would get punished for this…

Adding to this because my duo just got repeatedly kicked out of a QP match. He’s on Switch and I’m on PS4. He kept getting the message that there was on error and getting taken out of the entire game. Is there currently a problem with console servers? I played a bit with him earlier today, and I did not notice anything then.

I tried to hop on a few competitive matches but someone kept leaving and the match got cancelled. When a match actually started I got kicked out due to an error and I got penalized for it.
