Whenever I try adding anyone through the game, I get an internal error code 5001. It’s been like this for a couple weeks now, it randomly started, and I cannot add anyone. Please internally fix this on my account
So, either you or whoever you are trying to add have reached the friends max limit, or have too many friend requests pending (outgoing and/or incoming)

If you are on PC. Go in Bnet, Settings, Friends and Chat, View Sent Friend Requests. If you have a lot, try removing a few people then try to add someone again. If you can, then that’s the problem. As Joxxi said, there is a limit of how many pending friend requests you can have.

It is not a matter of either party having max friends or friend requests and I’m not on PC. I definitely don’t have nearly close to whatever probably the max is. And no way when I try adding all these different types of people, would they all have the max amount.
You could also have max out-going friend requests pending though if you sent a lot of friend requests to people, meaning you can’t send anymore unless they accept your friend requests or you remove the out-going pending ones.
That is what that error code means, that somewhere along the line, the max has been reached. Whether it’s one of you have maxed out friends on your list, or one of you have too many ‘pending’ requests sent or waiting to be accepted/denied.
