I had a same error in competitive, got kicked of match and got -50. How about fix it Blizzard???

I tried to queue up in a comp game, since I got bored and queued for dps, I went into a skirmish game, stayed there for a little bit, then got the sound for a found match. But then, I suddenly get logged out of battle net and it says “error applying update.” I’ve never seen this message before, there are no current updates, then when I got back in overwatch I’ve lost 50 sr and am suspended from comp. Can someone explain to me what that error means

its been happening to loads of people ive tried everything to get back online but its impossible but blizzard hasnt realised the problme yet

i just queued for a comp game, it found a match and then i got the same error “error applying update”. got a 30 min ban for it… wtf blizzard. how is that my fault. yeah i dodged a toxic game yesterday by leaving (was greeted with racial slurs in chat), but this time was actually going to play.

I’m on Xbox and I get the same message but it don’t say error it just says apply update
